The organization and choice of excursions was fine, but the tours combine English and Spanish and, unless you speak both, this does NOT work! The information delivered in English is minimal, and there is no cohesiveness in the group. They also combine different tours together and it becomes a complete mess. In one of the day trips they left me on a boat to see penguins, while the rest of the Spanish-speaking group did another excursion, and there was no one waiting for me when the boat returned. There had been no instructions - I did not even know I was the only one to see the penguins while the rest were doing something else. Complete lack of communication in English. That is why I say: If you do not speak Spanish, do not choose this tour. I will personally never choose another tour that is in two languages.Show more

Tour Radar did an excellent job in arranging for very fine tour guides, prepared a thoughtful itinerary, and its people and third party vendors were amazingly on time and responsive. I also appreciate how TR stayed in contact before and during the trip. My only negative is probably not TR's fault. The hotel was not up to standard, although it was better than most of what is available. I think Los Yamanos merits 1 star at best - poorly run with the desk man missing for long periods, little English spoken, very noisy rooms which were too hot or too cold, and the restaurant food can be safely avoided. But that is not TR's fault. I wish my expectations re the hotel has been better managed and that I was prepared. Bottom line Tour Radar did a first rate job.Show more

Although my itinerary changed from the original most of the changes were a benefit except my loss of a crucial excursion (penguins) but it worked out perfectly for me to fit it and tour radar bent over backwards to make sure it happened.   1) The hotel we use is Los Yamanas or a similar depending on the availability for your travel dates. 2) You must book a morning flight to Ushuaia in order to be able to attend the excursion on day 1 and the last one from Ushuaia in order to attend the excursion on day 5. 3) The level of this program is Moderate. You should be comfortable with somewhat-demanding activities. There is only one long Trekking to Laguna Esmeralda 9km / 2hr (round trip). 4) when you book this package there are 2 prices option, one in DBL Base Occupancy and one in SGL Base Occupancy. If you are on your own you should book a SINGLE room (only for you with private bathroom). you will not share.
