    • Day 1

      El Calafate to El Chaltén

      Take the 3-hour bus ride from El Calafate to El Chaltén. You'll pass Lake Argentino and Lake Viedma on the way. Make a stop at Parador La Leona where explorer Francisco Moreno once survived a puma attack. Get a seat on the left side of the bus to watch Mount Fitz Roy come into view. Remember to bring layers since Patagonian winds can be strong even on sunny days.

    • Day 2

      Fitz Roy Trek

      Set out on the Laguna de los Tres trail (17km round trip). Start by 7AM to avoid crowds and afternoon winds. The last hour is a steep 400m climb. One hiker shared: "The view of Fitz Roy's granite spires reflecting in the turquoise lagoon makes every step worth it. Bring hiking poles for the descent." Pack water and snacks as there are no services along the way.

    • Day 3

      Cerro Torre Trail

      Walk the more moderate Laguna Torre trek (18km round trip). Follow the path through lenga forests until you reach a glacial lake with floating icebergs under the striking Cerro Torre peak. Take photos in the morning light for the best shots. Bring waterproof hiking boots since the trail gets muddy after rain.

    • Day 4

      El Chaltén to El Calafate

      Spend your morning in El Chaltén exploring the hiking town. You might want to visit Lago del Desierto if time allows. Catch the 5PM bus back to El Calafate. Try the local favorite Rancho Aparte for traditional Patagonian lamb for dinner.

      Perito Moreno Glacier

      Take a full day to see this incredible glacier. Walk the viewing platforms to see the 70m ice wall from different angles. Book a boat trip to get close to the calving ice. A recent visitor noted: "The thunderous crack of ice breaking off is unforgettable. Go early and stay late – the lighting and crowds are best at the edges of the day."

      El Calafate

      Use this day to explore town or visit an estancia. The Nibepo Aike ranch shows you authentic gaucho culture and serves a traditional asado. Book early if you're traveling during peak season (December-February).

      El Calafate Arrival

      Arrive in El Calafate, your gateway to Los Glaciares National Park. After checking into your hotel, take the "Lakes and Caverns" 4x4 tour. It's an ideal first-day activity that lets you see ancient Tehuelche cave paintings along Lake Argentino. Plan for an afternoon arrival if possible. Morning flights often face delays due to Patagonia's strong winds.

      Perito Moreno Glacier

      Leave early at 8 AM for the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. The 1.5-hour drive on Route 11 takes you through beautiful Nothofagus forest. Take a catamaran from Bajo de las Sombras port for up-close glacier views. Bring waterproof clothing. The glacier creates its own weather patterns. For dinner, try Rancho Aparte for local Patagonian food and regional wines.

      El Calafate Free Day

This interesting spot was once visited by Butch Cassidy. Pack extra clothing. El Chaltén's weather can change quickly.

      El Calafate to Ushuaia

      Take a morning flight to Ushuaia. The trip takes about 1.5 hours. Get to the airport early because of possible wind delays. After reaching your hotel near downtown, explore the world's most southern city. Visit the Maritime Museum in the afternoon when crowds are smaller.

      Beagle Channel

      Start your day with a boat trip through the Beagle Channel. You'll find sea lions on Alicia Island and lots of seabirds on Bird Island. The Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse offers great photo opportunities in the morning light. Wear a good windbreaker. "The boat trip was incredible, we even saw sea lions sunbathing on the rocks!"

      Tierra del Fuego National Park

      Ride the "End of the World Train" into the park. This rail line follows an old prisoner transport route. Take the coastal walk to Bahía Lapataia. The trail is mostly flat with beautiful views. Watch for the native Fuegian fox and bring binoculars for bird spotting. Start around 8 AM to avoid midday crowds.

      Departure from Ushuaia

      Salta

      Salta to Cachi
