We need to know the closest airport to Moshi. Is the flight back from Zanzibar included and takes me back to Moshi or do we need to book Zanzibar London

Kilimanjaro International airport (JRO) is approximately 40km, or 40 minutes, from Moshi. Taxis are available to transfer you to Moshi, and cost approximately USD 50 per car. The tour ends in Zanzibar and this is where the tour leader departs. It's then up to you to organise your own onward travel, we do not return to Moshi as a group.

I see that on day 1 arriving at Moshi is possible at every time. However, my flight to Kilimanjaro ends at 1930 so I will be in Moshi pretty late. Will it still be possible to attend this journey?

Yes, as Day 1 has no activities planned, you can arrive at any time that day. You will depart from the starting hotel the following morning, you may just miss the welcome meeting at the beginning of the tour, but your CEO guide will leave instructions for your arrival.

my friend is borned in 2005 but won't be 18 if we go on your trip next August, I will be though, so can he come or is it strictly forbidden?

as long as the minor is travelling with someone over 18, they will be allowed on the tour. So as they would be travelling with you and you are over 18, they can join

Climbing Kilimanjaro was an unforgettable experience and the G Adventures team assisting us on the mountain was simply amazing. I can wholeheartedly recommend choosing G Adventures for a Kilimanjaro climb. However, the Zanzibar part, which is outsourced to a local operator, leaves a lot to be desired. The CEO was not really interested in offering us a great experience, but pushed us towards overpriced tourist traps and got intoxicated in the evenings. Zanzibar is a lovely place to relax after the climb, but with the current quality of G Adventures offering in Zanzibar, it is probably better to arrange the stay in Zanzibar on your own.Show more
