  On day 6, I had a sense of quietness I didn't expect when I stepped on the shinkansen toward Hiroshima. It is easy to see that some sort of emotional geography had begun to work its way into the mood of the trip even before it reached the city, and the 10 Days Japan Delight with Hiroshima had done a remarkable job of being sensitive to that. As promised, it was delightful and indeed copiously served throughout Tokyo's multi-layered neighborhoods, Kyoto's enduring temple precincts, and Osaka's marvelous and, quite frankly, chaotic food scene. But Hiroshima was a pause in the seemingly celebratory trip, demanding something greater from each traveller who was willing to receive it. The Peace Memorial was not just an educational tool. It reoriented. The most impressive part was that the schedule never waded into one extreme or the other, sacrificing one aspect of reality for the other. Ten days of joy and of solemnity, each making the other more significant by comparison. It was a balance that needed careful consideration to reach and a strong spirit to sustain.Show more

The 10 Days Japan Delight with Hiroshima spoke to this burden wholly and executed it in a manner that lifted the entire experience way beyond just tourism. Standing at the Peace Memorial between two frivolous attractions was not accidental. The map had the appropriate spaciousness and silence it required for everything to settle before carrying on with the itinerary. There was an awareness and sensitivity that characterized the trip at all times. Japan was full of delights from Tokyo's sensory overload to Kyoto's steeply contemplative temple districts — but there was a sense of gravity in Hiroshima that anchored it all, making the joy we found feel close and hard-won.   It was a fantastic experience and even one of the best trips I have ever taken in my life, the 10 Days Japan Delight with Hiroshima tour. The tour itinerary was laid out in a perfect balance, taking the tourists to the modernized cities, historic sites, and natural beauty of Japan. All the locations were perfect and there was time to see everything without being in a hurry. One of the highlights of this trip was Hiroshima. I was moved to tears by the Peace Park and Museum, and learned a lot about a pivotal moment in history. The tour to Miyajima Island and the floating torii gate was also a memorable experience with stunning views and serene ambiance. Our tour guide was excellent, very friendly, knowledgeable and always had some interesting stories about Japanese culture and traditions. The transportation itself was comfortable and efficient as was the hotel that was far better than I expected. The entire trip was organised well and people were able to relax and enjoy the entire trip.   Overall, the 10 Days Japan Delight with Hiroshima tour was an unforgettable experience, highlighting the beauty of the Japanese landscape, the rich history of Japan, and the opportunity to explore modern cities. The trip had been well planned and we were able to visit the well known sites, as well as spending considerable time in Hiroshima. A visit to the Peace Memorial Park and Museum was an emotionally charged experience and a great historical perspective to the trip. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to share interesting stories about the Japanese culture, traditions and customs. They maintained a well-organized group and ensured everyone was comfortable on the journey. The schedule was reasonably well balanced with adequate time for guided sightseeing as well as for some time to explore independently and enjoy local food. The accommodations were pleasant, the transportation was efficient and all the transfers were seamless. I really loved the attention to detail in making the entire journey a stress-free experience. Overall, this tour was a great mix of culture, history and scenery and was suitable for both novice and repeat visitors.   Japan had been on my family's travel bucket list for years, and I finally decided to book a tour that would take care of all the logistics for us. We visited so many incredible places in just 10 days, but the pace never felt rushed. I was able to truly relax because I didn't have to worry about getting everyone from one destination to the next or turning our vacation into another job. The guided visits, like Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and the Fushimi Inari shrine with its iconic torii gates, were well organized and gave us the historical and cultural context we would have missed on our own. At the same time, we still had free time in Osaka and Kyoto to explore at our own pace, try local restaurants, and wander through neighborhoods that weren't part of the itinerary. Our guide was fantastic. His explanations were engaging, and the extra context made each destination much more meaningful. He also had a great way of keeping my kids interested, which made the experience even better for our family. The accommodations were clean and conveniently located, so we could easily head out to explore after the day's tour ended. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and a wonderful way to see so much of Japan without the stress of planning every detail yourself. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Japan for the first time.Show more

  We loved our visit to Japan. Ume Tours planned all the logistics and it was so easy for my family to enjoy our time in the country. Big pluses were having a private guide, lots of free time to explore but still enough structure that no one had to stress about planning. The highlights for us were Senso-ji temple in Tokyo, seeing Mt Fuji while in the Hakone area, bamboo grove and Nara. The kids had a really fun time and loved everything that Japan had to offer. Hotels met our standards and we were also happy with having the Shinkansen train tickets arranged for us. All in all, the tour was well organized and we liked having a partially guided experience.Show more

The itinerary was well organized, the ease of travel from one place to another and to the various accommodations as well as the activities were very clear and easy to visualize. The recommendations were also very appealing to me because they weren't just a list of tourist attractions but things I was interested in doing during my trip. Booking was very simple and intuitive, no confusing steps or unclear instructions. One thing I'd like to add is that the activities and meals be offered more flexibly, in case of any last minute changes and also to have access to the estimated travel times between the stations quicker.Show more
