  We had a fantastic Botswana and Victoria Falls journey organized by Travel Safari Tours. The Okavango Delta experience was magical, and Victoria Falls was even more impressive than we imagined.   Our itinerary was changed after we made our final payment. We were told that we could get our money back but it was...
  Our itinerary was changed after we made our final payment. We were told that we could get our money back but it was all too late as I had booked all the internal flights etc. Etc.We then had to miss out on part of the tour but I paid for an extra night in the Delta which was okay. It did mean then that we missed out on NATA and had a long drive from MAUN to GWETA in a very old car without air-conditioning and a window that wouldn't open - a very uncomfortable trip which took 3 1/2 to 4 hours each way. We were told that the transport would be very good but this definitely was not.When we arrived at Gweta we were not welcomed and had to wait till about 5 o'clock for our room. When I asked about the quad bike tour there we were told that we would have to pay for it as it was an extra. It was not until I showed them the itinerary that they reluctantly gave us this experience but we were in such an old truck there and back which again was not ideal. We had several small issues along the way which I'm sure an experienced guide could've helped us with. We were told that we would have an experienced Guide with us the entire tour but this was not the case. We had a driver and also not the same driver. It just felt like it was not really a tour. It was just an expensive transfer from one accommodation to another. The accommodations were good but again we were given two single beds at a couple of the places instead of the double which we asked for. I am still waiting for the partial refund which I was promised. I just think that if it had been the tour that I booked initially it would've been much more successful and would have given us more opportunities. We did enjoy our trip to Africa however because we saw lots of animals. However, it was a bit disappointing that we did not get what we initially paid for because we will not have the opportunity to go back there again. I can't understand how T S Tours keeps advertising this tour if they can't get the itinerary promised.Show more

Firstly, we would like to clarify that the original 10-Day Botswana Safari itinerary operates successfully on a regular basis from Victoria Falls to Maun exactly as advertised. Unfortunately and as communicated, for your specific travel dates, we encountered availability challenges as Obona Moremi. As soon as this became apparent, we contacted you and presented the available alternatives. Following our discussions, you acknowledged and accepted the revised routing, which changed the itinerary to Victoria Falls – Chobe – flight to the Okavango Delta (you added an extra night) – Maun – Gweta. Based on your acceptance of these changes, we proceeded with confirming and operating the revised itinerary. Regarding the refund, we would also like to clarify that the agreed partial refund was submitted through the booking platform and was acknowledged by you. The refund is processed by the platform directly back to the original payment card used for the booking. Unfortunately, we do not have control over the final banking timelines, but we understand that the refund process has already been initiated on the platform as agreed. We are sorry to hear about your experience with the transfer vehicle between Maun and Gweta. While the transfer was arranged through a local transport provider, we acknowledge that the vehicle condition described does not reflect the standard we aim to deliver. We will certainly raise this matter with our local partners for review. With regard to guiding services, this particular safari is operated as a lodge-to-lodge safari with professional local guides and activity operators in each destination rather than a single guide accompanying guests throughout the entire journey. We apologize if this was not communicated clearly enough prior to departure. We also regret the inconvenience regarding the room configuration in Cresta on first night which we then upgraded you to a premier room on the second night and the confusion surrounding the quad bike excursion which was booked and we wonder why this was not raised to us by the lodge. While we are pleased that the activity was ultimately honoured as included in your itinerary, we understand that this should have been handled more smoothly upon arrival. Despite these challenges, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time in Africa and experienced the incredible wildlife that makes Botswana such a special destination. We truly value your feedback, as it helps us improve our operations and communication with future guests. Thank you again for travelling with us and for sharing your concerns.
