    Asked on August 5th, 2026

Can I meet at the hotel in Dobbiaco instead of at the Venice airport transfer? Can I delete the transfer back to Venice and make my own way instead?

    • B

      Becky

      TravelerWritten August 2026

Is it possible to bring a larger travel bag and transfer it around, or is this not possible?

    • Explore!OperatorWritten August 2026

The transfers to and from Venice airport are part of the tour as this is where we start and finish but you do not have to utilise them if you don't want to. If you are happy to make your own way to and from the hotel, that is fine.

    • Explore!OperatorWritten August 2026

As we are based at the same hotel this week and not moving around, your larger travel bag will be fine, you will still require a day bag for your hikes though.

    • Explore!OperatorWritten September 2025

This tour is actually a center based tour where you stay in the same hotel throughout the duration of the trip so there is not need for luggage transfer at all. You simply need your daypack for the day hikes with your water, snacks and extra layers.

    Jeffrey

    Asked on July 16th, 2025

Does this track covers parts of Alta Via 1 and if so what are the days that it is part of Alta Via 1? Is there an option for single room supplement? If so, what is the additional charge?

    Single supplement
    Tour Details
    • Explore!OperatorWritten July 2025

Is the hiking portion of the trip fully guided? Do you provide pickup and drop-off from Venice. If so what are the timings for pickup and drop-off?

    • Explore!OperatorWritten July 2025

Yes the hiking portion is fully guided. Return airport transfers are offered to and from Venice airport. Day 1: Join trip in Venice; transfer to Dobbiaco, meeting at Venice Marco Polo Airport at 3.45pm. Asked on April 6th, 2025

What is your estimate for level of activity so I can determine if I'm up for this. The climb in elevation is what I'm concerned about mostly.

    Tour Details
    • Explore!OperatorWritten April 2025

There are 5 day-walks on this holiday with an average of 6/7 hours walking each day. Terrain varies from quiet roads and good tracks in forests to some rugged singletrack paths. Surfaces can be uneven and are often stony and rocky underfoot so walking boots or shoes are essential. We are trekking in a mountainous area; typically, sections of uphill last for around 3 to 5 km/1.9 to 3.1 miles and take 2 to 3 hours to gain 400 to 500 m/1300 to 1641 ft in altitude. Please see the day-to-day itinerary for full details of the elevation gains and descents that will be made over the course of each day. Some of the hikes are at an elevation over 2000 m/6562 ft when we will slow our pace to allow for the effects of altitude. To make the most of your trip, regular long walks on hilly terrain in the weeks leading up to the trip will help prepare you.
