Our maximum group size is 16 for this tour. In this tour, we include 7 breakfast, 5 lunches and 5 dinners. Transportation to all hikes is also included. A deposit of 10% is due at the time of booking and final payment is due 70 days prior to departure.

This tour is actually a center based tour where you stay in the same hotel throughout the duration of the trip so there is not need for luggage transfer at all. You simply need your daypack for the day hikes with your water, snacks and extra layers.

Does this track covers parts of Alta Via 1 and if so what are the days that it is part of Alta Via 1? Is there an option for single room supplement? If so, what is the additional charge?

This tour does not cover Alta Via 1. The 23 August departure is full for this tour. Currently it is still possible to request space for the 20 to 27 September departure.

When is the best time of year to book?

Spring and fall are good times to travel.

What is your estimate for level of activity so I can determine if I'm up for this. The climb in elevation is what I'm concerned about mostly.

There are 5 day-walks on this holiday with an average of 6/7 hours walking each day. Terrain varies from quiet roads and good tracks in forests to some rugged singletrack paths. Surfaces can be uneven and are often stony and rocky underfoot so walking boots or shoes are essential. We are trekking in a mountainous area; typically, sections of uphill last for around 3 to 5 km/1.9 to 3.1 miles and take 2 to 3 hours to gain 400 to 500 m/1300 to 1641 ft in altitude. Please see the day-to-day itinerary for full details of the elevation gains and descents that will be made over the course of each day. Some of the hikes are at an elevation over 2000 m/6562 ft when we will slow our pace to allow for the effects of altitude. To make the most of your trip, regular long walks on hilly terrain in the weeks leading up to the trip will help prepare you.

Do any part of the tour stop in Lake Garda or is it possible to end the tour there?

The Hiking in the Dolomites trip does not go to Lake Garda. We have a cycling trip in that area.

Is this trip doing part of the Alta Via 1?

This trip does not do any part of Alta Via 1.

Firstly, the star of the show are the Dolomites, pristine beauty everywhere you look, each day leaving you in awe. The supporting stars were many but Jasmin our guide was incredible, considerate to everyone’s needs, knowledgeable and flexible to adjust the schedule to address weather conditions, easy going but firm when needed. Gave great background and history to complement the beauty. Jasmin helped to make this trip a 10+, hotel, food and transportation were all excellent and I’d have no hesitation recommending this trip to anyone and it would be a bonus if you have Jasmin as your guide.Show more

The hiking was a perfect match for the level of fitness and the level of challenge that I was looking for and I was blown away by the experience and quality of our guide Jasmin who looked after us for the week. The Dolomites were absolutely stunning and it was so great to have a local guide who could share her wealth of knowledge and give us lot's of insights into the history and local environment. The accommodation, food and care from the hotel owner and staff was also brilliant and could not fault anything about this trip and experience. I enjoyed my trip even though I was not able to attend all of the hikes due to the type of terrain and the experience needed. I am used to hiking but not at the level needed to complete the hikes on this tour, without causing injury to myself. I think it would be helpful to advise potential customers that they should have experience with rocky terrain and sometimes steep declines. The hotel/hotel staff/food were all excellent. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I loved the area that was used for lodging. Nice town with easy access to the train. I am slightly disappointed, as I did speak with representatives from Tourradar prior to booking, and nothing was mentioned about the level of difficulty. I am a repeat customer with Tourradar, so I was a bit surprised that I was not prepared for this trip, due to lack of communication from Tourradar.Show more

Generally we had a good guide and team on the trip, and we all got on which made it special. The walk to Tre Cime was especially memorable, a fairly challenging hike in parts but amazing scenery all the way. Not far behind was the Sexton ridge walk, a bit rocky in some parts, but with great views from the ridge, cross crossing Italy and Austria with the war history of the area and wildlife (birds and marmots) adding to the experience. The other walks were great too, lots of variety and generally good weather.Show more
