Are there any age restrictions for the Best of East Africa tour? My husband and I are in our late 70s and wondering about the tour's suitability.

This trip is designed for travelers in good health who are able to manage basic overland travel conditions, including long driving days and camping. While there isn't a strict upper age limit, we do recommend that travelers are comfortable with moderate activity levels and the pace of the itinerary. It's important to consider the length of the trip, daily travel times (some days up to 10 hours), and physical activity involved, such as game drives, walking at camps, and occasional hiking. We recommend consulting your doctor before booking to ensure you are comfortable with overland travel.

Do you have upgraded accommodations for this tour?

We are not able to upgrade accommodation for this itinerary however if you wish a single supplement can be arranged for an additional charge. In most locations we stay in simple tourist-class hotels (i.e. 2-3 stars), plus on many trips you'll also get to experience a night with a local family on a homestay. Keep in mind that if we are staying in dormitory accommodation, you may have to share with other passengers or be split into same-sex rooms with canvas dome tents with camping mattresses supplied.

  Additionally there may be occasional night stop when we stay on the grounds of a hotel or at a campsite, which may also have rooms/cabins available. In this case, there may be a choice of camping or upgrading to a room. Rooms cost approximately USD 40-100 per room per night for a twin room and cannot be pre-booked. Standards of these rooms vary greatly, and we recommend viewing the room before purchasing the night's accommodation
