Would it be possible to book private transfer services only, while following my own itinerary? Specifically, I would need transfers such as hotel–airport–hotel in Austria and France, as well as transfers between Austria, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Additionally, I would require transportation in France between Strasbourg and Colmar.

Regrettably, we are unable to arrange private transfer services as a standalone booking. Our transfer services are only available for guests who have booked an Insight Vacations tour.

We are not able to offer a customized trip for below 10 guests, but we are happy to assist you if you would like to travel with one of our groups in the future.

Is it possible to add travel insurance at a later time? And can we purchase our own or do we need to go through the Tourradar insurance? Does the Tourradar insurance cover war or terrorism threats?

The insurance you can always add on at a later time but it will give you less options on what you can add and cover then if you book it at the time of booking your trip. I personally also highly recommend shopping around for travel insurance as their are great plans out there. I would also recommend checking with your credit card company as sometimes they have some great plans if you book and pay using their card.

How much rain will be during the Winter time?

Typically it rains about 16 days on average in Germany. We would recommend being prepared for rain and/or snow.

I am interested in booking this tour for 6 adults and 4 children (2x15yrs & 2x13yrs). Could you please let me know if there is a better per person rate you could offer given the size of the group?

The price per adult comes to AUD $ 3,375 per person and for all travelers under that age of 17, the price would be AUD $ 3,055 per child. I was also able to add a savings of AUD $649.40 to the tour. To reserve the tour, only a AUD $200 per person deposit would be due. The final payment would then not be due until October 15th.

On the positive side, it was a good programme to visit 4 countries, great chose of hotels, knowledgeable and friendly travel director, Carl. On the other side, his information about stores being closed on January 01-02nd was predominantly wrong. Two dinners were arranged at a very inconvenient hour, I.e. at 16.00 which somehow disappointed the entire group. Horse riding in a carriage was offered twice which was too much. Generally the trip left a good impression, it was worth going during the festive week around the New Year celebration.Show more

Jampacked activities and I really wished it had more free time. More days spent in Switzerland instead of Germany would have made it perfect. Accommodations are almost perfect except for first 2 nights when they did not lay out the trundle bed even through they knew there will be three people in the room and we had to verbally ask. They corrected it after we complained. The only reason I’m giving it a perfect score is because our travel director Faith was outstanding and went above and beyond our expectations! Our bus driver Attila was excellent too. One has to be physically fit for this tour but overall enjoyable. This tour kept us wanting to return to Swtzerland someday!Show more

  Is there anyplace what will still allow someone not vaccinated to participate? He really wants to do the cable car at Mt Pilatus for example and would be really sad if he is unable to do it. Are there any castles on this tour? Do you explore any of the Sound of Music sites around Salzburg?

  At this time, it would be too soon to tell if any of the attractions may impose covid vaccination requirements. This can change at any point, but it is not currently required. You don't get to go into any castles, but some will be pointed out along the way. There is an optional experience in Linderhof to visit the Palace. In Salzburg you do get to see the gardens included in the Sound of Music.
