What people love about Ireland Tours in March
- 8-Day Emerald Explorer Small Group Tour
This trip was EXCELLENT! We saw SO many things, felt like locals, and had a interesting time with the smaller group. Our tour guide, Connor, was so helpful, interesting, talented, and kind. He made the tour special and memorable! Things were well organized!
- 7-Day Ireland to Island Small Group Tour of Ireland
The tour was everything promised in the brochure and more! The small group immediately started to interact on the first day, and we were given a quick history of Ireland, so anything we saw on the way was that much clearer to understand in context. The guide was funny and very knowledgeable. He was also very considerate, made sure everyone is on board, when to stop, how long to stay at places, etc. Food and accommodation was excellent, the only downside was I was constantly full!! :) And slightly tipsy too :) I'd definitely recommend this tour and do it again in a few years.
- 3-Day Dingle, Killarney & the Wild Atlantic Way Small-Group Tour from Dublin
The three day Dingle trip was fantastic! Our tour leader was exceptional. He was informative, helpful and fun! We packed in a lot of experiences in a short time but never felt rushed. The bed and breakfast was great and the town of Dingle is a wonderful place to stay!
What our customers ask about Ireland Tours in March 2026
What are the best locations to visit in Ireland during March?
Dublin's key attractions like Trinity College and the Guinness Storehouse offer protection from March weather while providing rich cultural experiences. The Dingle Peninsula and Ring of Kerry see fewer tourists this time of year making exploration more relaxed. Places like the Clayton Hotel in Galway or Killarney Avenue Hotel provide convenient bases for day trips. One TourRadar traveler shared: "The Ring of Kerry was absolutely magical in March - fewer crowds meant we could really soak in the atmosphere." The medieval cities of Kilkenny and Waterford balance outdoor scenery with indoor cultural sites.
Are there any special festivals or events in Ireland during March?
St. Patrick's Day on March 17th transforms Ireland into a nationwide celebration. Dublin's multi-day festival fills streets with music parades and cultural performances. The celebrations extend beyond the capital with Galway's parade drawing visitors from across Europe. Local pubs host traditional music sessions throughout the month. A TourRadar traveler noted: "the atmosphere in Temple Bar and around Trinity College was electric during the festival." Small towns often organize their own festivities creating authentic local experiences.
What are the best indoor activities for rainy March days?
Dublin's Trinity College Library houses ancient manuscripts while Kilmainham Gaol offers insights into Ireland's political history. The Waterford Crystal Factory shows master craftsmen at work and Kilkenny Castle provides a journey through medieval Ireland. Cork's distilleries welcome visitors year-round. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The Jameson Distillery tour in Cork was perfect for a rainy March afternoon followed by cozy evening at the Imperial Hotel's pub."
How much should I budget for a March trip to Ireland?
Tours in March cost between 180-500 USD daily with hotels like The Fairview Killarney or Imperial Hotel Galway ranging from 100-200 USD per night. A TourRadar traveler shared: "March offered better value than summer months with hotel rates at the Killarney Towers being noticeably lower." Entry fees for attractions average 30-50 USD while meals cost 20-40 USD per person. March prices often run 20-30% lower than peak season.
Which regions offer the best value for accommodation in March?
March brings lower rates across Ireland especially in regional towns. Killarney and Galway hotels like the Killarney Towers and Imperial offer better value than Dublin properties. Small towns present opportunities for authentic stays at local B&Bs. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "We found excellent B&B deals in Westport and Lahinch during March paying about 30% less than summer rates." The mix of hotels and B&Bs often provides the best experience and value.
What should I pack for Ireland in March?
Weather-ready clothing makes March travel comfortable. Pack a waterproof jacket boots and warm layers including wool sweaters. A TourRadar traveler advised: "Having waterproof gear was crucial for enjoying places like the Cliffs of Moher in March - the weather can change in minutes."
