  I booked the 10- Day Thailand Highlights trip with Legend Travel Group and it was such a wonderful experience! Their operators, Mr, Danny and Ms Lyna, were extremely efficient, communicative, and attentive. Communication was streamlined through WhatsApp, and all our communications were addressed timely. The trip itself was so great! The itinerary was full of educational and cultural knowledge and enough leisure time to explore on our own. All the tour guides were kind, punctual, and informative. They guided us to the right places to buy things to make sure we weren’t getting ripped off and made sure we got to where we needed. All transportation was comfortable and punctual. We changed some of our itinerary plans because we were exhausted, and that was not an issue whatsoever. We ended up doing some other things that were slower paced to keep us going. The weather was perfect throughout the entire trip (December 14-December 23). Our favorite was Phuket, and we decided to stay an extra day to enjoy more of our time there! Can’t recommend enough and I can’t wait to go back to Thailand!!Show more

  The first part was 5 star but the last was lacking. We paid for the five star upgrade for 10-day Thailand thru Legend Travel Group. Bangkok and Chiang Mai was fantastic. The private guides and drivers (Ken in BKK; Dare & Air, guide and driver in Chiang Mai) were amazing. They were knowledgeable and tailored our experiences. The hotels were gorgeous and convenient—Valia in BKK and Emperess Premier in Chiang Mai. I would, without hesitation recommend to use Legend for these two cities. The only comment for Chiang Mai would be the Golden Triangle day trip. It was seven hours of driving to see the Myanmar border and the Golden Triangle monument. There was not much else to see or do. The day would best be spent in the fascinating villages around Chiang Mai. The Phuket leg was lacking. Our arrival guide was unprepared and difficult to understand. The transfer driver was involved in a car accident on the way to the hotel. The guide did not check to see if we were ok. After the scene was secured, I asked her to request another car and driver to get us to the hotel. She was not proactive. The hotel was very disappointing. Oceanfront Beach Resort is not what we expected. The balcony looked at power lines and the side of a, not so nice, building. The property was not directly on the water, without direct water access. The beach was a 30 minute shuttle or a 15 minute walk to the first sandy areas. The walk involved narrow paths with heavy traffic. The staff frequently ignored my questions. I asked the Legend coordinator, Mr Danny for help with the room. His response was to pay additional $75/night to upgrade. After poor reception, car accident, and terrible room at a non waterfront resort without a beach, this was unacceptable. Some time later we were provided a different room The new room had a pool view and nice amenities. However, it had a persistent moldy locker room, old gym shoe smell. The toilet consistently had a sewage gas smell. The breakfast was nice, but not enough to rate five star hotel. Note, the local tour company provided a car and driver for an island tour to apologize for the accident. That was a pleasant experience. The Big Buddha is currently closed from a landslide. Phuket, Patong Beach, is not something that I recommend if you are not into the frat party scene. I would rather take the ferry to Phi Phi and stay at a resort there for day long boat water tours. Overall we enjoyed Thailand. The Phuket leg needs a hard look. As several reviews mirror similar issues.Show more

  The best experience of our Thailand vacation was in Chiang Mai. Our tour guide Mr. Dare and driver Mr. Air were the absolute best and made our trip memorable and fabulous! They were very hospitable, accommodating, and shared great historical knowledge. We were in a flood disaster zone and the city streets were flooded. We were scared seeing the Army trucks with the American tourists being evacuated from the area. Mr Dare checked in with our hotel and the hotel manager reassured us they were still open, even though the telephone services were out. The flood reached knee deep in water, and Mr Dare arranged for the hotel workers to bring a canoe to carry us in and out of our hotel. He drove to the outskirts of the flooded zone, and we continued with our tour. He then picked us the next day, up outside the flooded zone, and drove us safety to the airport. When we arrived to Phuket, our family had a very bad experience with our tour guide, Ms B. For 2 hours, she tried to up sell tour tickets to the James Bond Island, dinner show, and the tiger zoo, etc. She was angry and agitated that we pulled up our Iphones and compared the pricing which was much cheaper. She told the driver to slow down to the hotel drop off so she could finish her high pressure sales. She was mad that we did not buy anything from her, and told her we just wanted to relax on the beach. She did not show up our last day to return to the airport; she just sent a driver to pick us up, and we had to find our own way at the International terminal, back to San Francisco.
