Yes they are, at most of the hotels there is a hair dryer in the room. If not they are available at the reception :D Iceland uses EU plugs - we do not provide plug in adapters.

Can I request a group of 16

If you have 14 more people with you, unfortunately the hotels do not have the availability to accommodate them, we are contacting the hotels right now to book your room and we are optimistic that they will have an available room for you and then we will confirm your booking. If you are referring to the tour with a 16 passenger maximum, this departure that you booked on March 27th is for a maximum of 40 passengers, though at the moment there are only 22 people booked. The closest available departure for the 16 max tour is on March 17th.

I'm trying to book an alternate date for your tour and the website shows a 20% discount which was available on my first booking but is no longer showing for my new desired dates. I'd like to book at the price advertised with the discount.

What would be the extra cost for a solo traveler?

There is a single supplement for solo travelers as sharing a room costs less per person. If you try booking for 1 passengers you will see the price pop up :D For this departure on March 27th the price is 3.030 EUR for a solo traveler. We have a departure on February 27th that is 20% off!

I'm interested in a tour to Iceland. I'm looking for northern lights, waterfalls, geysers, beaches, walks, volcanic landscapes. I would be traveling solo and would like to join a small group. I would prefer a private room with private bathroom. I would like to depart from Madrid in early February for approximately one week. The departure dates and duration are flexible.

This tour is perfect to experience Northern Lights, waterfalls, geyser, beaches and volcanic landscape. As there is a very short time until the 6th of February departure, we have released our allotment and will have to contact the hotels to confirm another room. Initial check shows that the hotels seem to have availability, but we can only book the rooms once you confirm your booking for the tour. If you are flexible on departure dates, then we have another departure for this tour on February 27th which still has confirmed availability.

There seems to be a discrepancy for the Meals in the Daily itinerary and the What's Included section. The Daily shows Dinners and the What's Included shows Breakfast and 1 lunch. Please clarify. I would also like to know the difference in this tour and the Small Group tour. Is it only the amount of people? Are more destinations included in the Small Group? Are the hotels the same?

This tour includes breakfast every day and 1x lunch. The difference is the size of the group, large group has a maximum of 40 passengers and small group has a maximum of 16 passengers. The tour it self is exactly the same, the hotels and everything!

Would like to ask whether, on each day when there is a Northern Light search opportunity, a guide is accompanying the group in the area, or if this is an activity that clients are expected to search for on their own, or whether the tour takes place in an area that is already suitable for viewing the Northern Lights?

Every night during the tour when you are with your guide, he will be outside with you to guide you in the direction to look, how to take the best photos etc. The accommodations in this tour are remote from any light pollution so if they are visible in general they are visible there so you just simply walk outside and try to catch a glimpse. But the guide will be there as well.

Would you recommend any additional sightseeing for my clients to add to their stay in Iceland in addition to your tour? If they want to eat at some specific resturants is that possible to arrange on the tour? For example, the Froheimar Greenhouse and in Arnarstapi the Beer Spa?

On our tour they will cover the South and West of the country. There are not many day tours that can cover an area that is not already covered in our tour, so I would rather recommend and activity, like a Glacier Hike or ATV tours. There is an optional Ice cave tour during our tour that can be booked with our guide.

Do you need a minimum number of people booked on each tour before it's considered a guaranteed departure? Are there luggage dimensions & weight specification limits for luggage on the bus? Can we book a room at the hotel in Reykjavik (Hotel Klettur) prior to when the tour starts if we want to get there 1-2 days earlier? Can we get the Flybus transfer vouchers if we arrive earlier and stay later than the actual tour dates? We really want to see the Northern Lights. What is the percentage of Northern Light sightings in March?

If a passenger is booked on a tour departure the tour will run. We have the same luggage as you have on a plane, one big suitcase and one small one. You can also have a backpack with you on the coach. Yes you can book the room through us and we honour the prices on our price list. The Flybus vouchers are an open ticket, so you are able to use them on the arrival day and departure day. The Northern Lights season is from September to mid-April. The longer you stay in Iceland during those months the more likely you are to see the Northern Lights. 2-night stay: About 20-25% chance. 4-night stay: About 60% chance. 5+ night stay: Over 85% chance. On the months where daylight is shorter, we do adapt the tour but you still see everything that is listed.

I can walk quite a bit, however being born in tropical country I am not great with icy roads. If this is the tour for us we'll come back to you.

This tour is very easy and a good fit for those who don't want to walk a lot. There is snow in Iceland in the winter months, but the places visited during this tour are all taken care of by the state. We still advise you to bring good shoes with you.

The biggest issue was the lack of promised Northern Lights information i.e. Lectures, a film presentation about the Northern Lights presented by the Northern lights Academy Program and a presentation about photographing the Northern Lights. The guide when asked about these presentations knew nothing about the program itinerary. Although he did provide information about the Auroras. Somebody needs to reread and rewrite the itinerary! We just completed our Northern Lights tour with Martina & Franz from GJ Travel on 24 October. We cannot emphasise enough, not just how good the tour was, but Martina & Franz are THE BEST at what they do. The passion they have for Iceland is infectious and having completed our tour I fully understand why. Such a beautiful country that cannot be captured on a phone because my eyes were seeing so much more beauty than the lens could capture and it captured a lot. Additionally, the administration of GJ (we booked direct) was so great to deal with, as we were able to arrange everything and make necessary changes with such ease. Also, being 6’2” or 188cm, the coach was spacious and uber comfortable which is always a significant concern that was immediately resolved upon boarding. Seriously, the ultimate experience from start and to finish in that magnificent Blue Lagoon (tourist trap or not) was a wonderful way to end what was a magical experience. So thank you thank you thank you. We will certainly be recommending you to friends, family and anyone who will listen.Show more

- For any tour departing before July 8th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 8th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with GJ Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and GJ Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "GJ Travel" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of GJ Travel. Please familiarize yourself with the GJ Travel payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
