    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

Yes, we do offer post-nights at the end hotel at an additional cost of USD 50 per night for a standard twin/double room. Please note that you will need to arrange and book your own flight back to Kota Kinabalu.

    Asked on January 2nd, 2026

I am a solo traveller and would prefer to have a private accommodation. I can accept 1 night in homestay if no other option. There is a mention of permanent tented camp, but in list of hotels it talks about resorts. I would prefer not to sleep in a tent. Or can you describe what the tented camp mean? How much is private room for this your in USD or Eur? Also, would you be able to advise if thefe is possibility to then fly to Flores to visit Komodo Islands? Do you have any tours there?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

If you elect to pay for the My Own Room option you will have a single night on all stops of the trip with the exception of the homestay on DAY 2 (shared accommodation, shared bathroom faciliities). You will stay in a hotel for Kota Kinabalu and the rest of the time you are in jungle resorts (except for DAY 2 with the family as this is a guesthouse, and when you are on Libaran Island (guests stay in a tent which has a bed). Pricingfor the My Own Room option is available to you in the booking portal page if you create a courtesy hold for the trip. For onward travel to Flores or Komodo Island you would have to check on flights from Kota Kinabalu to your preferred destination (you would likely have to travel through Denpensar or a major airport hub).

And on the Libaran Island with tent, would I have my own tent? Could you share a link for that type of accommodation so I can see how it looks like? Also, is there any alternative to the home stay?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

You will have your own room/tent for the whole tour except on Night 2 during the homestay. You will need to share with another traveller of the same gender since they cannot accommodate a solo room on that night.

    • M

      Megan

      TravelerWritten January 2026

Thank you, and do you please have a link to the tent place so I can see how it looks and can decide? Also the homestay, so it will be one room i will share with one other person or more persons?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

Nights sharing will be as follows: Hotels (2 nts), homestay (1 nt, multi-share), jungle lodge (3 nts, twin-share), permanent tented camp (1 nt, twinshare). Twin share would be 1 other person only. Multi-share is only for 1 night (Homestay) and would be more than 1 person. You can put the following on google and click on images to see what it looks like: Walai Penyu Resort

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten October 2025

We believe that travelling by yourself shouldn't be more expensive. We treat single travellers the same as the rest of the group, which is why we don't charge single supplements. We'll partner you up with a same-sex roommate to ensure you pay the same as everyone else. Sometimes it's just more convenient and comfortable to have your own room, which is why we offer single travellers a "My Own Room" option. The My Own Room option for this departure is 809.00 NZD.

Most of our tours are based on twin share rooming. Since you have an odd number of travellers in your party, let us know if you/someone would be happy sharing with another solo traveller of the same gender on the tour free of charge OR if you would prefer to add the "My Own Room" single supplement, we can do so for an additional $499.
