Wondering what tours you have in Morocco that would be lovely but not extremely mountainous/challenging. We are a couple of experienced cyclists in our early 70's.

Looking for something not too strenuous

I am interested in this bike adventure BUT only if a single room/ tent is available!?

we are interested in the 14 days cycling trip in Morocco in March 26. We are very strong cyclists. How many Kilometer are we going to cycle every day? Is this done on MTB? How many people have already booked?

You can expect daily cycling distances ranging from 22 km to 69 km, with a mix of flat, undulating, mountain and some gravel sections. This trip is suitable for strong cyclists. We currently have 7 confirmed travelers as of now.

Can you advise approx daily cycling distances? Also there are 2 tours. 1 says including bourmaine dades? The other including Ouarzazate? But I don't see any description of either. Trying to figure out differences of these tours. I am a solo traveller, will you buddy me up with another person?

Regarding the two tour variations: The version that includes Boumaine Dades features a ride through the Dades Valley and Dades Gorge, with a visit to a local nomadic family. The version mentioning Ouarzazate includes a lunch stop in Ouarzazate, a visit to the Horizon Association for People with Disabilities, and time to explore Ait Benhaddou. As a solo traveller, you'll be paired up with another traveller of the same gender for a twin-share room unless you choose to purchase a single supplement.

Kindly advise on the total kilometres to be cycled.

are there carbon bikes available( at extra cost of course ) or cld I bring a bike ( from NZ) - a lighter bike is better for me - I don't want an e- bike

While we are confident in the quality and suitability of the bikes we provide, we understand that sometimes you prefer the comfort of your own bike. If you wish to bring your own bike on this trip, please let us know at the time of booking. Please note that we will not be carrying a spare bike for personal bicycles. Suitable Type of Bike: The roads on our itinerary are generally in good condition, though there may occasionally be gravel or potholed sections. We recommend a mountain or hybrid bike with plenty of gears for easier cruising. Tandem bikes are generally not accepted due to transport constraints, though exceptions may be possible in some destinations—please ask your booking agent if relevant.

Are there any extension options to stay longer with the bikes? How far in advance is it advisable to book? Do the bikes have racks for panniers or is everything carried by the sag wagon?

Extension with bikes – Unfortunately, we can't extend the use of our trip bikes beyond the tour itself. If you'd like to continue cycling afterwards, you'd need to arrange this separately with a local supplier. We strongly recommend booking as early as possible to secure your place (especially if you'd like an e-bike option, as these are limited). Generally, booking at least 56 days before departure is advisable, but earlier is always better. Our bikes do not have panniers or racks. Instead, your main luggage is carried by the support vehicle, and we recommend bringing a small day pack or cycling jersey pockets for essentials. The support vehicle also provides backup, carries gear, and is available if you'd prefer not to cycle part of the route.

This tour was so good. Our guide, Mohamed, and his assistant, Rashid, were wonderful. So friendly and informative and solicitous. They did everything they could to make us comfortable and to ensure that we had a good time. The scenery was astounding, the itinerary well thought out so that we got a good overview of Morocco. The cycling was more challenging than I expected; Morocco is hilly... dare I say, mountainous... and for me, used to riding at sea level, this was a challenge. Some of the rode some long, steep grades. If you're not used to riding long up-hill sections, you might want to consider the e-bike option. However, I highly recommend this tour. Can't say enough good about it.Show more

From start to finish, I was thrilled and impressed with the Moroccan cycling tour. As a pretty avid cyclist, I was hesitant about booking the trip due to what I considered as low cycling mileage on the itinerary. I decided, however, to go with the trip because for me, it was more about seeing and experiencing Morocco than cycling (which I can do a lot of at home). I'm so glad I did! My particular tour had a main guide, Mohamed, and a guide in training, Rachid. The two alternated lead and rear positions, enabling faster riders to ride ahead of the group at an adequately challenging pace with one and slower paced riders could take their time (and lots of photos) with the other. It was perfect! Plus, with a bit of travel lag and all of the other activities on the itinerary, the amount and length of rides turned out to be just right. I especially appreciated how the guides provided Strava route information for the rides, as well as a daily itinerary summary at the beginning of each day. In the trip itinerary literature, It was recommended to take a sleeping bag for winter season trips. I took one and was extremely that glad I did. All hotels had heat and extra blankets but for me personally, I needed more to be comfortable. I used my sleeping bag plus wore Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisperer pants and jacket to sleep in. Perfect. For daytime activities, I had a light jacket, a fleece vest, and a down-filled puffy vest which was great for layering. On the bike, I wore arm warmers, a base layer, a jersey, and a wind vest. On a couple of days, I also wore an additional light wind/rain jacket. On the bottom I wore cycling shorts covered by ankle-length cycling leggings. I took fleece-lined leggings as well but those weren't necessary. Short and full finger gloves a must, as well as thicker socks, and a neck/head covering beneath the helmet. Two cycling kits were adequate - there was enough time to wash and air-dry articles of clothing when needed. If in doubt, take more rather than less warm outerwear. With regard to food, there was always more than plenty of it and it was absolutely delicious! Generous amounts of snacks and beverages were also provided during rides. In addition, the guides provided excellent suggestions for reasonably priced places to eat meals that were not included in the trip. I cannot recall one instance during the entire trip in which I desired more or different food options. Overall, I enjoyed every second of the trip. The guides were young, fun, respectful, flexible, fit and well-organized. They went out of their way to get medicine for people who needed it, they arranged for me to get my delayed luggage from the airport two days after my arrival, and they even treated our group to incredible hospitality at their family's home for tea and dessert. Our driver, Mohamed, was also extremely safe at all times and the bike workers worked very efficiently to keep all cyclists on the road with minimal down-time. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo! An absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish!Show more

Pluses: This trip was excellent and would highly recommend it. Cycling had some challenging hills, some hot and windy days. Highly advise hydro pack, not just a water bottle. Culturally, very interesting. I did not find vehicle traffic an issue. We were there during Ramadan. There were less cafes and restaurants open than normal, and some cities and hotels did not have alcohol. Us westerners whined but managed and super enjoyed a cold beer when available! The guides were excellent, very friendly and good bike mechanics and organized great food and cultural experiences. Cons: bikes not serviced prior and a couple had permanent issues. Not everyone had high geared bike with suspension for steep hills so they worked hard. E-bikes ridiculously expensive compared to what you pay in Europe ( almost 3x’s more) and were older, heavy models. Need to upgrade bikes. Trip should start in Tangiers, not Marrakech. First day of riding was mostly a waste. Really fun cycle through the heat and bustle of Marrakech and Medina but had to check out of our hotel by 1:30. We were tired from the heat and no where to hang out. Evening cool and pleasant but catching train to Tangiers. Train was slow, noisy, stopped lots and very poor sleep. Arrived in Tangiers about 0800 but hotel rooms not ready and everyone had to change into cycle clothes, brush teeth etc. in hotel lobby bathroom. Cycling that day was very windy. We were there late March/early April.Show more

Can you advise approx daily cycling distances? Also there are 2 tours. 1 says including bourmaine dades? The other including Ouarzazate? But I don't see any description of either. Trying to figure out differences of these tours. I am a solo traveller, will you buddy me up with another person?

  As space in our support vehicle and transport can be limited, we kindly request travellers to bring only a small or medium soft-sided bag as their main piece of luggage. Most travellers bring a small to medium wheeled suitcase, which fits comfortably in our private vehicles.
  Our support vehicle will carry your main luggage throughout the trip, while you can keep a day pack with essentials like snacks, water, and a change of clothes for cycling days.
  If you plan to travel with two large duffel bags, we'd recommend checking with the joining point accommodation in Marrakech to see if they can store one bag during the trip, this is usually possible, subject to availability.

  While we are confident in the quality and suitability of the bikes we provide, we understand that sometimes you prefer the comfort of your own bike. If you wish to bring your own bike on this trip, please let us know at the time of booking. Please note that we will not be carrying a spare bike for personal bicycles. Suitable Type of Bike: The roads on our itinerary are generally in good condition, though there may occasionally be gravel or potholed sections. We recommend a mountain or hybrid bike with plenty of gears for easier cruising. Tandem bikes are generally not accepted due to transport constraints, though exceptions may be possible in some destinations—please ask your booking agent if relevant.

  Extension with bikes – Unfortunately, we can't extend the use of our trip bikes beyond the tour itself. If you'd like to continue cycling afterwards, you'd need to arrange this separately with a local supplier. We strongly recommend booking as early as possible to secure your place (especially if you'd like an e-bike option, as these are limited). Generally, booking at least 56 days before departure is advisable, but earlier is always better. Our bikes do not have panniers or racks. Instead, your main luggage is carried by the support vehicle, and we recommend bringing a small day pack or cycling jersey pockets for essentials. The support vehicle also provides backup, carries gear, and is available if you'd prefer not to cycle part of the route.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
