I was nervous about the balloon ride because I’m usually afraid of heights, but the team was amazing. They explained everything clearly and made me feel so safe. Once we were in the air, it was so calm and beautiful that I completely forgot my fear. The landscapes looked endless. After that, we jumped on quads, and wow, what an adrenaline rush! Riding through the desert tracks, passing little villages, and feeling the wind on my face was incredible. The camels were slower, but it gave us time to enjoy the silence and the sunset. Everything was organized so well, we didn’t have to think about anything, just enjoy.

I recently joined the Hidden Gems Gravel Trip with MTB Morocco, and let me tell you—it was worth every penny! At first, the price seemed a bit steep, but once you hit the trails with this team, you’ll quickly understand the value. This isn’t your typical touristy tour. These guys are all about the real gravel biking experience. They don’t take you on detours to shops for commissions or try to upsell you at every corner. Instead, they focus entirely on creating an authentic, seamless adventure, showing you the true beauty of Morocco through trails you’d never find on your own. The routes were absolutely stunning—gravel paths winding through hidden valleys, remote villages, and jaw-dropping landscapes. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about biking, which made every mile an incredible experience. The high-quality bikes and attention to detail made the trip not only smooth but unforgettable. What really stood out was how much I saved in terms of time and stress. With MTB Morocco, everything is planned perfectly, and their English-speaking team ensures you’re taken care of from start to finish. If you’re thinking of comparing this trip to something cheaper, don’t. You’re paying for expertise, authenticity, and an adventure that will stay with you forever. For any gravel enthusiast looking to explore Morocco’s hidden gems, this is the trip to book. I can’t recommend it enough!

What our customers ask about Bicycle Tours & Trips in Morocco
What are the top cycling routes in Morocco for scenery and adventure?
Morocco's premier cycling routes weave through the High Atlas Mountains descent via Paradise Valley the Draa Valley with its ancient kasbahs and the breezy coastal path to Essaouira. The Tizi n'Test Pass standing at 6,890ft presents sweeping views across the Sousse Valley and Anti Atlas Mountains. A TourRadar traveler noted "The scenery was just spectacular and at times you felt like you had the whole valley to yourself" while cycling near Tafraoute. The routes showcase Morocco's varied terrain from mountain peaks to lush oases with stops at distinctive properties like the Hotel des Cascades Ecolodge in Imouzzer.
What are the typical daily cycling distances on Morocco tours?
Cyclists cover between 35-70km daily across varied landscapes. The Marrakech to Paradise Valley route spans 45km while the desert stretch from Erfoud extends 54km. A TourRadar traveler shared "Some of the climbs and descents are not for the faint-hearted" specifically about the 20km Tizi n'Test Pass ascent. Each tour provides a backup vehicle letting riders choose their daily distance. A standard day includes 4-6 hours of cycling with regular stops for rest photography and local exploration.
What type of accommodation can I expect on a Morocco cycling tour?
Lodging ranges from modern hotels to traditional riads and desert camps. Notable stays include the mountainside Hotel les Amandiers in Tafraoute and historic properties like Riad Al Madina in Essaouira's old town. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The hotels after Day 2 improve immensely including a palace and the most stunning central hotel in Essaouira." Desert camps offer proper beds with mattresses and blankets though amenities are basic. Tours blend 3-4 star hotels with local guesthouses creating a mix of comfort and authenticity.
What is the best time of year for cycling in Morocco?
Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) offer ideal cycling conditions with moderate temperatures. Winter brings cold weather to the Atlas Mountains while summer sees Sahara temperatures above 40°C. A TourRadar traveler advised: "If you're going on the February trip prepare to be cold! I needed fingered gloves body warmers ear covers neck covers and full length warm leggings." Coastal areas near Essaouira maintain mild temperatures throughout the year while inland regions experience more dramatic seasonal shifts.
What is included in a typical Morocco cycling tour package?
Standard tour packages provide bike rental (typically Cannondale mountain or hybrid bikes) support vehicles lodging most meals and expert guides. Accommodations like Hotel les Amandiers and activities such as Sahara camel rides come included. A TourRadar traveler commented: "The guides were excellent very friendly and good bike mechanics and organized great food and cultural experiences." While breakfast and select dinners are covered some meals are left open for independent dining exploration.
What cultural experiences are included in Morocco cycling tours?
Beyond cycling tours incorporate visits to UNESCO sites like Ait Benhaddou local market exploration and riad stays. A TourRadar traveler shared: "We had the chance to talk to members of a women's cooperative near Essaouira who were producing products from Argan oil." The journey takes riders through Berber communities past historic kasbahs and into desert camps. Stops for traditional mint tea and artisan workshops add cultural depth to the cycling adventure.
