Kilimanjaro experience was awesome. Staff support was great. Loved it all. Safari was too long. Too much driving last day and didn’t enjoy second day. Guide could’ve been more knowledgeable and a better driver.

This was a trip of a lifetime. One Seed Expeditions truly knows how to get the best people for the job, I felt so taken care of on that mountain. I ate better food than what I would have ate at my own home. The cook was amazing. The service was excellent. The guides Gabriel, Hebron and Doude are such a great combination, they really compliment each other and make an over all extraordinary team. I felt a little dizzy a few times as the altitude increased and they made sure I was safe, took my backpack before I knew I needed it taken and made sure I stayed hydrated. These guys are trained on keeping us safe while also encouraging us and singing and teaching us songs along the way. From day one they were all eager to share their knowledge of the plants and animals on the trail. They answered any questions we had and were very knowledgeable about each environment we encountered. We did the Marangu Route and I was surprised how adorable and comfortable the cabins were. The porters bring you warm water to wash up in and they woke us up with homemade cappuccinos. Right when we would arrive at a new hut they would offer popcorn and tea/coffee/hot chocolate as a before dinner snack. My muscles were sore but I definitely felt spoiled at times. Reaching the top of Mt Kilimanjaro was a one of a kind experience I will never forget and I encourage everyone to do. It was like hiking into outer space, the landscape changed so often and the stars were bigger than I have ever seen them. After the hike we went on a 3 day Safari and it was a blast! The safari vehicles are so much fun and the guide knew the best places to go and taught us about all the animals. And we saw so many animals! Tarangire National park was full of life. We even woke up to seeing a line of probably 30 elephants marching right by our camp. I was ecstatic. We went to a national park known as the home of tree climbing cats and it was really cool seeing all the animals in a jungle setting. The Ngorongoro Crater was like being on a national geographic episode. The staff set up tents for us and made tent camping feel luxurious. Tanzania is a beautiful place and I would love to go again. This was my fist One Seed Expeditions trip and from the moment I signed up they gave us helpful information and got back to us quickly if we ever had a question. Everything was very organized from start to finish. I am already planning my next One Seed Expedition trip with my husband and our friends that went to Kilimanjaro. Patagonia here we come!

We hiked Kilimanjaro with OneSeed and it was the experience of a lifetime. What an adventure and with OneSeed handling all the stress of planning all we had to do was show up and hike! Would recommend OneSeed to anyone looking for more then just a vacation.

From check in and welcome to the warm good-byes, we had a blast with One Seed Expedition. Top notch crew during the Kilimanjaro hike (Hebron, Gabby, Ayubu, Peter and Beatus were excellent, knowledgeable, caring, competent people) and a wonderful safari guide (Kazi and his protege Baraka). The itinerary made the most of two weeks in Tanzania; it was fast-paced but that was part of the challenge and the overall experience. Only one suggestion for improvement: the boxed lunches for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians were pretty bad. Al the other hot meals were fantastic, well balanced and healthy. The boxed lunches could use some improvement.

The stuff members was what made made this trip so memorable. Peter( the guide), Salomon( cook), Raj and all other were exceptional. Safari guide ( Hiraf) was one of the best I've experienced. The track itself was wonderful and not difficult till the last final summit. ISafari was amazing too and a nice change after low temperatures on top. Honey Badger lodge was really nice. What could be improved are the lunch boxes ( the same every day with lots of fried, unhealthy food) and the fact that One Seed is charging double for the hotel if you book an extra night through them ( if you book directly with the hotel it's basically half the price) left a bad taste... they will also make you pay for hotel if you come back from the track early which is not specified anywhere on the website .

I completed the Kilimanjaro Summit & Safari tour in November 2017. On the ground in Tanzania the crew were first class. The accommodation in Moshi is in a great location – staff and facilities were excellent, and while a little out of town, this meant that it was quiet and relaxing, with a view to Kilimanjaro only 10 meters from the front door. Issa and the team that supported me to the Kilimanjaro summit was excellent. Their itinerary (including an acclimatisation day) maximises the odds of completing the climb. Issa is a great guide (I was on his 98th summit, so he's a got a wealth of experience) - great advice (‘pole pole’) through the trip made sure I successfully reached the summit. The food (thanks Sulaiman) and other support was also first class. And the team always had a smile on their face! On the safari, Ninah and George made an excellent team. On a safari you can only see the animals that are there - but Ninah has a deep knowledge of the parks we visited and the habits of the wildlife that ensured I saw all the animals and birdlife that were present. As with the Kilimanjaro trek, I certainly didn't go hungry, with really tasty meals. I had some feedback for OneSeed on some gaps in their pre-trip processes - to their credit, they have accepted this and are taking steps to improve them to make the trip better for their next clients. For me, this is a sign of a responsive, client focussed organisation, so congratulations to them.

Questions & Answers

Here we have collected and answered the most frequently asked questions about this tour.

    • I am very interested in different landscape and the local culture. How is gonna be handled on this tour?

The tour covers the great Kilimanjaro National Park. Landscapes cover the rain forest, moorland and geological phenomenons with beautiful sceneries. You will also experience different microclimates e.g. the alpine desert. Alienated moon-like landscapes and glaciers. The safari gives you the possibility to explore the wildlife from a different point of view.

During the whole tour cultural backgrounds and geological history will play a huge part.

    • Do I need a special gear for this tour?

Yes it is highly recommended for this tour. The exact list of the expedition gear can be seen here: http://www.oneseedexpeditions.com/kilimanjaro-summit-and-safari

    • Do I have to carry my luggage all the time or is there a service provided by the operator which takes of the luggage?

Happily this tour includes porters or pack animal for your personal gear. You are only responsible for carrying a daypack on the trail.

    • James12th May 2018
I was able to sort through the various trips until I found a couple I wanted to take. After I booked I misjudged the travel time between when one tour ended and when I had to get to the next one (I didn't realize there were no evening flights where I was). TourRadar was great in connecting me with the tour operator and they were in turn great with helping me change the itinerary so I could do both trips without any extra hassle.
