The 3 month academy is at Arrawarra, just North of Coffs Harbour - our Spot X Surf Camp. Transfers from Sydney - Brisbane - Byron Bay to Spot X are included in the cost of the package. There are 3 meals per day not including weekend - weekends are free for all to enjoy and do what ever they like in the local area - or jump on a bus to Byron Bay for the weekend to explore a little more (not included in the cost).

I loved every second of it! Knowing me you would of never thought that I would voluntarily get up at 6:30 every morning to surf, but that's me now!! I bought my first board out here and have got so many likes on my awesome surf photos from my friends back home. The instructors are so nice and friendly and because I was here for 3 months I became friends with them, much to the jealousy of my sister, haha! The beach is so beautiful, the sun rises over the waves as I am paddling out. I have to pinch myself every day to check if I'm dreaming. Definitely recommend!Show more

  We're still in early planning stages, but are probably looking toward September 2023. My son will be 18, I will likely travel there and stay for a few weeks. Are there resources available for me to get some surf lessons? How big are the groups on average? Can you give me any more details about surfX housing?

  Our accommodation is either in our teepee village or shared dorm accommodation. Our group sizes vary and we would expect between 6 to 12 doing the different academy packages. We do have cabins onsite all with views of the beach and ocean. We do provide lessons where you could join one of the group sessions - these are for different levels so we would put you in with the beginners.

  Our working plan is for Shepherd (18) and I to travel together. He is interested in the 3 month course and will Stay in a dorm? Or do people like the teepees better? I plan to travel with him and stay at one of the cabins/ bungalows for about three weeks.
