This Wanderland tour was hands-down one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had! We booked it as part of our honeymoon and wow it was incredible. Every day brought something new and exciting—paragliding in Lombok, snorkeling with turtles, and the legendary Gili T pub crawl were some of my absolute highlights. I also loved biking around the islands and swimming in waterfalls with the group—such a fun and adventurous crew! Our group leader, Stacia, was phenomenal. She was knowledgeable, fun, and always had such great energy. I felt completely safe and taken care of the entire time, which meant I could just relax and enjoy the trip without any stress. Being our honeymoon, Stacia went the extra mile to ensure we felt special - from desserts at restaurants to flower pedal swan displays on the bed! Just wow! The only thing I noticed was that she was staying in separate hotels than us - a bit of feedback is that I would feel more comforted in knowing she was on site in case of emergency. She really made the experience what it was—we’re so lucky to have had her leading our tour! Wanderland, thank you for the memories—and Stacia, thank you for being such a star!

Great itinery…The play/dance performance wasn’t in English, so, we couldn’t understand anything. They also kicked fire, which is also dangerous. The tour needs to move around the schedule so we don’t w to circle back to the dance.

Bali Experience, 4 July 2025, intro travel The itinerary was good, lots in interesting things to do and see, though personally I was more interested in the scuba and snorkeling opportunities. Though a few other favourites were the family visit and doing karaoke with the group. The scuba dives were very good, and also convenient that we were able do it with our hotel and that their prices were pretty much the same across the island. So no need to shop around wasting time doing research. Our trip guide was also very helpful with liaising with the instructors to organise follow-up dives. The main issue i found with the trip was that there wasn't much downtime/free time, as travel from hotel locations and individual activities took up alot of time. And infact towards the end myself and my friend actually skipped out on some of the scheduled activities to have some more down time. A good example of this would be the transfer to Gilli T. We got up at 5 in the morning to begin the journey and were scheduled to arrived around early to mid afternoon. After arriving the day was going to be free time to explore island and do as we please. But unfortunately we didnt arrive until i believe gone 9pm, as the fast boat was cancelled due to poor sea state. Now while i understand weather is outside of the companies contol, to me it doesn't seem to be a total one off. And did hear from others that this isnt unheard of for the boats to be cancelled, and that even another group arrived past midnight. Also the fact the day was left conviently free of scheduled activities, leads me to belive this somthing they are well aware of and suspect may occur. In which case they should have a more formalised established back up route, and make it clear that this is potentially an issue that may occur. As if i was aware of it being a potential risk i wouldnt have nearly been so upset with the resulting loss of a day. The replacement boat to Gilli T was something out of a horror movie. Hendri, our guide, was amazing is trying to resolve it and make it as comfortable and stress free for us as possible, and I cannot not sing his praises enough. The conditions in which we were going to have to make our way to the island were quite frankly barbaric and i shall leave it at that. It was only because of Hendri's quick action that our journey was made “tolerable”. Overall while I did enjoy my trip there were definitely a few areas of improvement. However I can safely say the guide was NOT one of them, and would be more than happy to hear that he is my guide again on any potential follow up trips.

What our customers ask about Surfing Tours & Trips
What are the best destinations for surfing tours?
For great surfing, head to Byron Bay and Spot X Surf Camp in Australia, where friendly local instructors will help you catch waves at iconic breaks. In Bali, both Kuta Beach and Canggu work well for learning - the water stays a pleasant 80°F (27°C) year-round. If you're looking for reliable waves, check out Taghazout in Morocco. The conditions there are good pretty much any time you visit. As one TourRadar traveler says: "The surf lessons were really well organized and the instructors were excellent at getting everyone standing up on their first day."
When is the best time to go on a surfing tour?
The best time really depends on where you want to go. If you're heading to Byron Bay in Australia, book between September and April when the water's warmer and waves are consistent. For Morocco's Taghazout, winter (October-March) brings bigger waves of 6-8 feet (2-2.5 meters). In Bali, plan your trip during dry season (April-October) when you'll find steady waves around 3-5 feet (1-1.5 meters). One TourRadar traveler shared: "We went in April and had perfect weather and waves every day at Byron Bay - not too crowded and ideal for learning."
How long are typical surfing lessons on these tours?
Most lessons run for 2-3 hours, including time for beach instruction before you hit the water. At Spot X Surf Camp in Australia, you'll spend about 90 minutes in the water during morning lessons. In Taghazout, they split up the sessions between morning and afternoon - this way you can rest between sessions and catch the best waves of the day. One TourRadar traveler mentioned: "Having both morning and afternoon sessions really helped cement the techniques we learned, with enough rest time between to recharge."
What accommodation can I expect on a surfing tour?
You'll stay close to the surf spots, which makes getting to your lessons easy. In Byron Bay, you might be at the Wake Up! Hostel or similar places right by the beach. If you're surfing in Bali, expect to stay at laid-back surf camps or beachfront spots like the Kuta Paradiso Hotel. In Morocco's Taghazout, you'll likely stay in a traditional riad where you can walk to the surf breaks in just a few minutes.
