Reply from: Feel Free TravelThank you for sharing your feedback Sanja. We’re sorry to hear that the experience didn’t meet your expectations. It became clear early on in the trip that there was a significant disconnect between what you were expecting and the kind of experience we offer. Our trips are designed for adventurous travellers who want to explore the real Bali – its culture, food, nature, and people – through a local lens. We’re very transparent in our trip descriptions and pre-departure info that this is not a luxury or 5-star resort-style holiday. The included food is a mix of local dishes that many of our travellers genuinely enjoy and appreciate as part of the cultural experience. While we know not every meal will suit every palate, referring to the food as “dirty” and implying that rice is only “for poor people” was not only unfair but also disrespectful to the local communities who welcomed us warmly. Similarly, some of the comments made during the trip about Bali being “a sad and poor place” were troubling to hear – especially as our goal is to foster meaningful cultural exchange and understanding. In terms of travel time, journeys between locations were typically between 2–3 hours, with the longest being around 3 hours on certain travel days. Early starts were only scheduled when necessary to get the best out of each location and to maximise our time in Bali. Most travellers embrace these early mornings as part of the adventure, but we understand this may not have been the right pace for you. Several members of the group contacted us privately after the trip to share their concerns about your behaviour and how difficult you were to manage as a traveller. They felt it was important we knew how troubling some of the situations were, particularly the emotional outbursts and repeated disrespect shown towards the local culture, food, and people. They also wanted to express their support and empathy for our team, who they felt showed remarkable patience and professionalism in handling what were, at times, very challenging moments. While we’re disappointed to hear your take on the trip, we sincerely hope this feedback helps future travellers understand what we offer: a real, grounded, and group-focused adventure that celebrates Bali for what it truly is – not a curated, luxury influencer experience. We wish you all the best with your future travels. —The Feel Free Travel TeamShow more

Traveler•Written December 2025also if someone can help me find flights for this trip. i live in sandiego ca
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written December 2025When it comes to Nusa Dua Beach, it isnt included as part of our itinerary. That said, you've still got a few great options if it's somewhere you'd love to visit! You could head there before the tour starts, as it's close to the airport, and book an extra night or two independently. Or you could extend your stay after the tour, as Nusa Dua isn't too far from Uluwatu, where the trip finishes

Asked on March 1st, 2025The best of Bali tour with women's day discount is it only for 18-39 year old or can you be 52 like me? Seems like women's day deal shouldn't have age cut off. Also what is solo supplement?
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written March 2025As much as we would love you to join us, we must remain faithful to our target audience and existing customer base. These customers are young students and gap year backpackers eager to join others on their first-ever solo adventure. It would be unfair for us to accept bookings from travellers outside of the 18-39 age range that we set for our groups. I would suggest looking at companies like G Adventures, One Life Adventures, or Intro Travel. I know they have a much more flexible demographic than we do, and they offer very similar group trips.

Asked on February 27th, 2025Does the price include airfare from NYC?
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written February 2025The price doesn't include flights to and from Bali. We include most of the big ticket items like twin share accommodation, awesome activities, local experiences, secret stops along the way, local guides, a group leader and a handful of meals.

Asked on February 22nd, 2024Who will I share a room with?
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written February 2024All solo travellers will pair up with other travellers of the same sex… girls with girls & guys with guys. If you are travelling with a friend, let us know, and we can put you together… same if you are travelling as a couple, we will arrange a double room where possible. You can upgrade during the booking form if you’d like your own room.

Asked on February 22nd, 2024Do we stay in hostels or hotels?
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written February 2024The accommodation on our trips is something we do better than anyone else, and our tours definitely wouldn’t be the same without the awesome places we stay. We’ve handpicked these places to give you the perfect balance of comfort, security and convenience. We really do love where we stay, and so do all our happy travellers ?

Asked on February 22nd, 2024When should I book my return flight?
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written February 2024We always suggest booking your return flight later on the final day. This will give you plenty of time to get back to the airport and enough time to say your goodbyes and leave without any stress or worries. The airport is approximately 20-45 minutes from the hotel in Ho Chi Minh.

Gina
Asked on February 22nd, 2024What happens after my tour?
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written February 2024It really depends from group to group… sometimes we’ll have a whole bunch of people hanging out once the tour has finished, travelling for days, weeks or even months together. But in others, you’ll have many people going their separate ways. As the trip unfolds, you’ll soon learn about each other's travel plans and share ideas for what adventures lie ahead. The hardest part is saying your goodbyes and giving your last big hugs to the people leaving straight after the trip ends.

Asked on February 22nd, 2024Will I get an airport pickup?
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written February 2024Anyone arriving on Day 1 or who decides to book pre-tour accommodation with us will be picked up by our trusted drivers when they land. They’ll be standing waiting at the airport with a Feel Free Travel sign, so you’ll have no issues finding them ??

Asked on February 22nd, 2024When should I arrive on Day 1?
Feel Free TravelOperator•Written February 2024We suggest aiming to arrive during the middle of the 1st day, it’s not essential, but it will give you time to freshen up before we head out for dinner and drinks. You’ll be grateful for that little extra time to relax, soak up some afternoon sun or just go for a wander and explore the local area.

Feel Free TravelOperator•Written February 2024You sure will, once your trip is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a bunch of useful information, including an ‘Arrival Guide’. Within this guide, you’ll find a packing list, safety and cultural information and some useful tips to prepare for your trip.
