What people love about New South Wales Tours

Undoubtedly the best way to see Sydney, meet fellow travellers, explore some of the lesser visited parts of the east coast and make long term friendships. The staff at ultimate travel are the most friendly and helpful I have come across and nothing is too much trouble. Despite finishing our time in Sydney 4 years ago we are still in contact with the guys in Sydney and have used them since for other bookings, advice and to be generally jealous of their lives! The whole operation at Ultimate Travel is professional, well thought out and laid back. Exactly what you need to have a great time!

Back in November 2014, I spent my first week in Australia taking part in the UltimateOz program. I arrived a day early and spent most of that day on my own wondering if I had made the right choice to leave my comfortable life in England and move to the other side of the world. Those fears were completely erased as soon as my tour guides bounced into the hostel reception to greet the group! Throughout the week their enthusiasm was infectious, they had an answer for every question, and they knew all the best places to go out in Sydney! On top of that, the staff in the Ultimate headquarters were so supportive and welcoming every time I went into the office; I knew I had nothing to worry about. The activities throughout the week were awesome, and so much free food was included! The city tour on the first day was a great way to get to know Sydney. The guides had so many facts about the city, it was great to hear them talk about a city they love so much. We had a welcome party on the first night which involved a free drink and free dinner and a lot of dancing! The boat cruise on the Tuesday was fantastic, what an amazing way to see the harbour and a different side of the Opera house. Base Camp was my favourite part of the week. A holiday within a holiday! We had the chance to take a selfie with Josie the kangaroo, go sand boarding, dolphin spotting, surfing, chilling at the beach and star gazing at night. We also did a walk to one of the most beautiful lookout points I've ever seen. And we spent the evenings socialising as one big group, playing games and getting to know one another better. By the time we came back to Sydney I knew I had made some friends for life. I actually still live with one of the girls I met in my first week! The week was topped off by a stunning beach walk from Coogee to Bondi and a bar crawl in the evening which involved a party bus and prizes! I won a discount on a trip to Fraser Island (thanks guys)! I had an amazing first week with Ultimate! Can't recommend it highly enough!

"As far as tours go, it's great to have others to enjoy with. Wake Up was a nice hostel with a great breakfast included the first day. That day I chose to take the ferry to Manly where our tour guide Georgia showed us shopping, the beach, and this great acai bowl restaurant. From Sydney we took the 9 hour train ride to surf x camp in arrawara. The teepee I slept in was so cool. The surf lesson was great...but we only had less than 1 hour surfing in the water, if we wanted more we had to pay more, in the afternoon we went for a walk along the beach with some local indiginous people to learn about the plants of the area and try some, we stopped at the campground to find kangaroo. The food at surf X was good. surf x still hasn't sent us the link for the surfing photos though. Byron Bay is a great surf town, although I didn't surf Wake Up had free surfboards available...I had purchased the option to kayak with dolphins and didn't feel like surfing after that. the town had lots of little shops and restaurants and a walk to the lighthouse and furthest easterly point in Australia. The next day we went to Brisbane, after a koala bushwalk where we didn't see koala. In Brisbane check out Southbank and Queen street after dark.

"Had a great experience on tour with AJ on the Sydney week. Accommodation at the wakeup hostel was better than I expected as I was in a hostel for the first time. My flight was late and ultimate helped on the weekend change my shuttle time. I had a really great time
