- J(Jose· January 27th, 2026Excellent trip it met my expectations. The guides were very patient, knowledgeable and enjoy what they are doing. Food choices on the Inka trail were excellent I’m a pescatarian. At the Amazon lodge the food was basic for me I had to settle for vegetables and eggs, no seafood was available. I’m almost 72 years of age, I managed to do the Inka trail and Rainbow mountain, two demanding hikes. Very happy I came, I’m looking forward to my next trip with G adventures. Thank you very much.Show moreTrip date: January 2026
- RCRochelle· November 6th, 2025For the Inca Trail it would be good if tourism operators worked with UNESCO and other stakeholders to change the modèl There were too many people on the trail with 500 guests and around two support staff per guest spoiling the wilderness Instead a lighter weight more low impact model should be developed and instead of porters upskill local people to work as rangers to protect and interpret the landscape and invest in more appropriate scale campsites with proper seweragé Plumbing and camping kitchensShow more

Bob· July 30th, 2024Inca Trail was amazing and amazingly hard. Guide and porters were unbelievable. I became sick after the Inca Trail unfortunately, and so slept through most of the rest of the tour. The Amazon portion was too rushed - too much travel for too little time at the lodge.Show more
G Adventures commented on this reviewThank so much for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the Inca Trail, but regret that you fell ill. G Adventures commented on this reviewThanks for the positive feedback!Trip date: October 2022Review collected by G Adventures - ARalph Topp· October 23rd, 2022The best part of this trip was the guides and porter staff (Inca Trail). G Adventures should be proud of those they employ. Each G Adventure employee has been extremely helpful. I would add, Miguel made our trip so very memorable. The group seemed to each develop a long lasting relationship with him. He made the trip amazing! I would add the porters on the Inca Trail were equally professional. We were all humbled by their service towards us.Show more

Asked on December 10th, 2025Do transfers from airport to hotel get included? Are departure tours from hotel to airport included? Do I need to arrange Machu Picchu entrance permit?
G AdventuresOperator•Written December 2025Arrival and departure transfers are not included in the price, but can be added on separately for an additional fee. Machu Picchu permits would be arranged for you if the trip is confirmed.

Asked on November 17th, 2025Do we need to bring camping equipment, and just backpack w/o carry in suitcase?
- A
Anne
Traveler•Written November 2025What size backpack most of people take go to the trip?
G AdventuresOperator•Written November 2025We recommend using a medium backpack for your convenience, or a medium-sized suitcase if you prefer. A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage. Porters are allowed to carry no more than 6kg of personal belongings per hiker. Any additional weight must then be carried by you in your day pack.

G AdventuresOperator•Written November 2025Rainbow Mountain is an extra 75 AUD per person to add on.

Asked on May 19th, 2025For the trek on the Inca Trail, can you provide: 1. the total kilometers hike per day; 2. the total elevation hiked per day; 3. you recommend bringing sandles that we can wear socks on the trek. Are you suggesting we trek in the sandles, or do you recommend using hiking boots for the trek and the sandles are for around the camp? 4. Is it possible to leave extra luggage in Cusco, rather than in Lima.
G AdventuresOperator•Written May 2025Sandals are not recommended for the hike as the terrane is very rocky and uneven. It is best to bring good hiking shoes. You will leave the rest of your luggage in Cusco and then be given a duffle for the hike. Porters are allowed to carry no more than 6kg of personal belongings per hiker.

Traveler•Written May 2025Do you know the total change in altitude on each day? For instance, on the climb to Warmiwañusca, the highest point is ~4,200m. However if we start at 1000m, we'd have 3,200m to climb, but if we start at 3000m, we'd only have 1,200m to climb.
G AdventuresOperator•Written May 2025For the Inca Trail: Day 1 Start: KM 82 - 2,600 M, End: Wayllabamba - 3,00 M. Elevation Gain - 400 M. Day 2 Start: Wayllabamba - 3,000 M, End: Paqamayo - 3,600 M. Elevation Gain - 600 M. Highest point of the trek on this day, Dead Woman's Pass - 4,200 M.

Asked on March 12th, 2025Hi, we are a family of four interested in the Amazon to the Andes tour. I noticed that the minimum age is 12 years. Our youngest child would be 11 years and 9 months - he is mature for his age and has done a lot of hiking. Would it be possible for us to book this tour despite the fact that he is just under 12?
G AdventuresOperator•Written March 2025We can allow travellers who are 11 years and 9 months as of the first day of the tour.

G AdventuresOperator•Written February 2025You can add this on just before the payment screen, or we can add on later manually. We need to know your currency/country before we can quote and also what date of departure you were thinking of?

Asked on January 18th, 2025I'm very interested in this tour as a solo traveller. I won't be doing the Inca Trail Hike as my knees wouldn't allow this. Am I able to charge my devices (3) and my sleeping CPAP machine? What's the weather like in June, July and August? Will this special sale apply to the above dates?
G AdventuresOperator•Written January 2025We do have an option with this itinerary to do "Cusco Stay" which does not include any hiking. Instead you stay in Cusco at a hotel and then go to Machu Pichu by train to meet up with your group memebers who hiked! You will be able to charge your devises and use your CPAP machine on all the nights of this tour except days 9 and 10 while you are at the Jungle Lodge in the Amazon. At the Lodge we are able to make a special request to accomodate your CPAP machine as sometimes they have batteries they can provide during the night. However this would need to be requested with our local team at the time of booking and would only be for use of your CPAP and not to charge additional devices. June, July and August all fall within the dry season so tempurtures are cooler and there is less chance of rain making it a good time to visit! Currently June thorugh August dates are on sale with the Great Advenure sale! This sale ends on January 31st.
