- Day 1
Cape Town
You'll arrive in Cape Town whenever works for your flight. There's a welcome meeting set up with your CEO and the rest of the travel group. If you've already booked the South African Wine Tour add-on, heads up that it starts early the next morning, so you might need to skip this first meeting. Your CEO will leave instructions about where and when to reconnect with everyone.

- Day 2
Cape Town to Lambert's Bay
The route takes you up Cape's west coast, making a stop at the !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre to learn about the region's Indigenous heritage. By late morning you'll reach Lambert's Bay for an included wine tasting where you'll pick up techniques for analyzing flavors and understanding how wines from the Cederburg Mountains pair together. After that, there's free time to either visit Bird Island or wander around the town if you're interested.

- Day 3
Lambert's Bay to Orange River
You're heading north through the dry, remote interior of South Africa, and by the mid-afternoon you'll cross into Namibia. The road follows along the Orange River, and once you settle at the riverbank for the evening, you'll have time to relax and take in the landscape as the sun starts to set.

Orange River to Keetmanshoop
Leaving the Orange River behind, the journey moves toward Fish River Canyon, one of the most dramatic geological sights in the region. From there you'll continue driving north through landscapes that shift and change, eventually arriving near Keetmanshoop in the afternoon. Later you'll explore Giant's Playground and Quiver Tree Forest, both unusual geological formations that showcase Namibia's unique terrain.

- Day 5
Keetmanshoop to Namib Desert
An early start gets you moving north through dramatic Namibian terrain toward Sesriem. By late afternoon you'll arrive at the Namib Desert, where massive red sand dunes tower around you, with some reaching over 300 meters high. The dunes create a gateway into this vast, otherworldly landscape that covers most of the drive.

- Day 6
Namib Desert
The day focuses on Sossusvlei, a clay pan ringed by some of the world's largest sand dunes. You'll have time to explore on your own, and there's also a visit to Sesriem Canyon, a narrow canyon cut through the landscape. Dune 45 is a popular spot for climbing if you're up for it, and Deadvlei, a surreal white salt pan, is available as an optional add-on to check out.

Namib Desert to Swakopmund
You're crossing through the Namib Desert, a region that looks empty but has its own kind of beauty. There's a coffee break planned in Solitaire, a quiet village that mostly consists of a filling station and mechanical workshop. Later you'll drive through Walvis Bay, Namibia's main port town, then arrive in Swakopmund for a two-night stay. This coastal town has interesting lunar landscapes and impressive sunsets.

Swakopmund to Etosha National Park
Heading east into Namibia's interior, the landscape changes to something that looks almost otherworldly. You'll see Spitzkoppe visible in the distance, a striking rock formation nicknamed the 'Matterhorn' of Namibia. Once you reach Etosha National Park in the afternoon, a wildlife safari drive starts right away in the touring vehicle. Watch for lions, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, and antelopes throughout the drive. Later, as the sun sets, more animals may come to drink at watering holes near the camp.

Etosha National Park to Windhoek
You're leaving Etosha and heading south through Namibia's countryside toward Windhoek. For lunch, there's a stop at Penduka Village Restaurant & Shop, a G Adventures-supported spot that's included with the tour. After eating, the afternoon is free for exploring Windhoek and checking out the capital's German colonial architecture and influences.

Windhoek to Ghanzi
The border crossing from Namibia into Botswana happens during the morning drive east toward Ghanzi and the Kalahari. A guided bushman walk offers insight into how the San Bushmen have survived in this harsh environment. You'll stay at Dqae Qare San Lodge & Camp, a G Adventures-supported lodge, where the community's hospitality is part of the experience. The evening revolves around sitting around a fire and learning about San history and culture.

Ghanzi to Maun
The drive goes through the northern stretches of the Kalahari Desert, a landscape that's intensely dry and sparse but undeniably beautiful. By evening you'll reach Maun, the main town in the Okavango Delta area, where you can stock up on supplies and get ready for entering the delta. Free time here can include pre-booking a scenic helicopter ride if that interests you.

- Day 14
Okavango Delta
Your introduction to the Okavango Delta starts with a wildlife drive in a safari vehicle for about 1 to 2 hours until you reach the 'dock'. From there, you'll transfer into a mokoro, the traditional canoe, for another 1 to 2 hours of travel deeper into the delta. After arriving at the camp, the evening includes watching a traditional dance performance.

Okavango Delta to Nata
You'll catch the sunrise over the delta before heading back to Maun by mokoro. Once in town, there's time to grab your luggage, eat lunch, then continue south toward Nata. In the Nata area, there's the option to join a sunset wildlife safari drive or bush walk. At night, elephants often come down to the camp's watering hole to drink.

Nata to Kasane
The route takes you to Kasane, which sits just outside Chobe National Park's gates. This park is known for having Southern Africa's largest elephant population. In the evening, there's an optional sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River if you want to see wildlife from the water.

Kasane to Victoria Falls
The day starts with an optional early morning safari drive through Chobe National Park if you're interested in catching wildlife before things get busy. After that, you'll cross the border into Zimbabwe and stop for lunch at Lusumpuko Women's Club, which G Adventures supports locally. By afternoon you're heading to Victoria Falls, and from there you've got plenty of free time to decide what you want to do. You can walk around and take in the falls themselves, or if you're up for something more intense, there's helicopter rides, white-water rafting, or bungee jumping available depending on what appeals to you.
