    Darwin

    You'll arrive at Darwin airport and get transferred to the Heritage Adventurer, your expedition ship for the next week. After meeting the other travelers, dinner is a relaxed affair on board, so you can settle in and get to know people without any rush.

  2. Day 2

    Koolama Bay - King George River

    Koolama Bay is where things really start. You'll head out on a Zodiac to cruise the King George River, moving past towering red cliffs and thick mangrove forests. The highlight is King George Falls, where you'll see water dropping 80 metres straight down from sandstone cliffs.

    Vansittart Bay

    Today takes you to Vansittart Bay. After crossing the salt flats, you'll find the remains of a US Air Force C-53 that crash-landed here back in 1942 during World War II. It's one of those unexpected historical finds you don't get to see every day.

    Ashmore Reef

    Ashmore Reef Marine Park comes next on your itinerary. By Zodiac, you'll tour one of Australia's richest marine ecosystems, where up to 100,000 seabirds breed each year. The reef itself has 255 species of coral and plenty of tropical marine life to spot.

    Swift Bay

    Swift Bay offers a maze of islands and inlets to navigate. More importantly, you'll see ancient rock art in caves right near the water, with Wandjina and Gwion Gwion paintings dating back 5,000 to 13,000 years. Standing in front of that kind of history is something different.

    Prince Frederick Harbour - Hunter River

    Prince Frederick Harbour shows off lush mangrove ecosystems backed by red sandstone cliffs. You'll be watching for saltwater crocodiles, mudskippers, kingfishers, and white-bellied sea eagles as you cruise through. Later on, you'll head to the Hunter River and visit Naturalists Island by Zodiac.

    Montgomery Reef - Doubtful Bay - Freshwater Cove

    Montgomery Reef is something to see as it rises dramatically from the ocean on your Zodiac journey. You'll navigate through narrow channels of what's actually the world's largest inshore reef. From there, Doubtful Bay has whales if you're lucky, and then Freshwater Cove brings you face-to-face with ancient Wandjina rock art guided by a local Aboriginal expert.

    • For any tour departing before May 24th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 24th, 2026, a minimum payment of $750 is required to confirm your booking with Travel Marvel. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 120 days prior to the departure date of your tour.
