Itinerary
- Day 1
Paris to Dijon
You'll head east from Paris into Burgundy's wine country, starting with a stop in Noyers-sur-Serein where the medieval streets and half-timbered houses give you a real sense of what this region looked like centuries ago. After wandering around there, you'll continue to Beaune for lunch and some time to walk through the town, which sits at the heart of Burgundy's wine trade. If you're interested, the Hospices of Beaune is worth seeing with its distinctive colorful tile roof. Later in the day you'll arrive in Dijon, where you can spend the evening walking through the lively streets and checking out the medieval and Renaissance architecture, particularly the Palace of the Dukes which is pretty hard to miss.

- Day 2
Dijon to Paris
This morning you'll leave Dijon and head to Fontenay Abbey, a UNESCO site where your admission is included, so you can explore the grounds and buildings at your own pace. From there you'll drive to Semur-en-Auxois to see the impressive ancient walls that surround this medieval city. Next you're heading to Vézelay, one of the notable villages in the region, where you'll have time for lunch and to walk around before visiting the basilica that once served as a starting point for pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela. After that, you'll begin the afternoon drive back to Paris, arriving in the evening.
