Hobart
You'll arrive in Hobart and get settled at your hotel. The harbour precinct is worth a walk through, and there are local galleries to check out if that interests you. A wine bar makes for a nice way to relax before dinner with the group, where you'll find the food features local produce.

Hobart
This morning includes a trip up Mt. Nelson Lookout to see views over the city and Derwent River, plus a stop at historic Battery Point and Cascade Brewery. The tour wraps up at the Botanical Gardens. After lunch, you'll have the afternoon to explore Salamanca Market with over 300 stalls selling alpaca throws, woodwork, gin, and fresh vegetables.

Hobart to Strahan
You'll travel through different landscapes starting with Mt. Field National Park to see Russell Falls, then continue to Lake St. Clair (Australia's deepest natural lake). From there, you'll pass by the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park before reaching Strahan on the West Coast by evening, overlooking Macquarie Harbour.

Strahan to Cradle Mountain
A Gordon River cruise takes you through untouched wilderness to Sarah Island, where you'll see the ruins of the state's oldest convict settlement. Later, you'll travel through small mining towns in mountainous terrain on your way to Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park.

Cradle Mountain

You'll visit Waldheim Chalet, home to Gustav and Kate Weindorfer who helped protect this park.

Cradle Mountain to Launceston
Two floral gardens are on the schedule: the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden with over half the world's rhododendron species, and Mount Gnomon Farm where lunch comes straight from the paddock. Sheffield, known as the Town of Murals, is a quirky stop before you head through Meander Valley to Launceston.

After arriving in Bicheno, you'll head out this evening to see little penguins that live along this coast (60-70 characters).
