Thank you, Stephen from Texas :) This is a fabulous review, which we have thoroughly enjoyed reading. It hits all the points of what we try and achieve, and most of all, we're glad that Tasmania made a lasting impression on you. Our job was to make this an easy experience, and we're glad to know we played our role. Great photos too, thanks for sharing. All the best. Under Down Under

Hi David, Thank you for this feedback. We have adopted a seat rotation guideline to ensure that guests all get to sit up front as well as in other locations out of fairness to all passengers. The style of vehicle, Toyota Coaster Deluxe, is listed on the tour radar website. It is a very common tour vehicle for groups this size (max 20). In saying that, we are sorry to learn that it did not meet your expectations. Thank you also for your feedback on the active nature of the tour. Moderate fitness and good mobility are essential. You are correct, most of the walks in the National Parks do not have hand rails, and although some are straight forward on flat paths, many on this itinerary have steps and uneven terrain and gravel tracks. It is always challenging meeting different guests needs and expectations and we work hard to do so. We will share with our guide your feedback on commentary and the walks. Thank you for this. Overall, we're glad you liked our tour and the special mention for the Penny Royal in Launceston - it is a unique and a special place. Kind Regards, Under Down Under

Hi William, Thanks for that feedback. I would be very keen to know where you read that our tours are for 10 people so that this can be rectified. Our comfort tours accommodate 20 guests (as clearly noted on the tour description on Tour Radar), and 24 guests can join our Original style tours. Thanks for the comments regarding Hadyn. you advertise "small group tours". 20 is not a "small group" and it was too big for one guide to handle on his own

    • Under Down Under ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

It is a system default setting in the reservation system that when there are 10 or more spaces available, it will simply say '10 spaces available'. The group size is 1-20.

    • Under Down Under ToursOperatorWritten January 2026

Many tour companies carry 48 passengers with one guide. Our guides are very experienced. Further, it is common language to use 'small group' up to 24 passengers.

    • Under Down Under ToursOperatorWritten July 2025

The tour would start at 7.30am on Day 1 so you would need to arrive Hobart the day before or earlier. Finish time on Day 6 is 5.30pm. You could fly out that evening if flight departs 7:30pm or after. Each day there are some short walks or options on some days for longer ones (2-3 hours). Free time is limited as each day has a reasonable schedule to fulfil.

I had a serious accident and mangled my foot 10 years ago and spent years learning to walk. I have a huge wish to do a nature walk and can manage 2- 4 km ok but would be concerned if if your walks range in the 6-10 km per day. What level of fitness is expected for this tour please?

    Tour Details
    Travel Support
    • Under Down Under ToursOperatorWritten March 2025

By the sounds of it, this tour is the best of those we offer as it offers numerous walks that are shorter in distance. Based on your description, you will be fine on Day 1 and Day 2. At Cradle Mountain, the Dove Lake Circuit (6km) might be a bit much, but you can still enjoy the park and do shorter walks at Dove Lake to Glacial Rock and/or the Boat Shed, and along Ronny Creek (along a board walk). Day 4 should also be ok as Cataract Gorge is about 2-3km on easy trail, and you can walk as much or as little as you like at the Bay of Fires. At Freycinet National Park (Day 5), if you can manage steps and uneven gravel surfaces and are fit enough to climb uphill slowly for around 40 minutes, you could attempt the Wineglass Bay Lookout. However, many some guests are unable to do that but still enjoy Honeymoon Bay for lovely scenery and a short walk to Cape Tourville Lighthouse. Day 6 at Port Arthur should also be ok as you can choose how much to walk at the historic site, and the walks in Tasman National Parks to see the geological formations are all quite short.
