Salvador de Bahia
You'll arrive in Salvador de Bahia and head to your hotel. After you settle in and get comfortable, you'll have the rest of the day to rest up before starting your 13-day journey through northern Brazil.

Salvador to Morro de São Paulo
After breakfast, you'll drive to São Joaquim, take a ferry to Tinhare, then hop on a speedboat to Morro de São Paulo. The day is yours to walk around white sand beaches, swim, try some of the trails, or go diving and snorkeling if you'd like. You'll head back to Salvador in the evening.

Salvador to Porto de Galinhas
Following breakfast, you'll walk through the UNESCO heritage Old Town of Pelourinho and see its Baroque architecture and Gothic churches. After lunch, you'll visit the Church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim from 1745. Then you'll transfer to the airport, fly to Recife, and drive about 2 hours to Porto de Galinhas.

Porto de Galinhas
You'll spend the day checking out beaches along the coast heading south. This includes Pontal de Maracaipe with its colorful sandbar, Praia dos Carneiros with palm trees and white sand plus a historic church, Praia Barra Grande where the beach splits the ocean, and Pontal do Maragogi where you'll take a boat to see natural pools.

Porto de Galinhas to Jericoacoara
You'll have some final time at Porto de Galinhas, which has been voted best beach in Brazil eight times. Then you'll drive about 1 hour 10 minutes to Olinda, a colorful colonial town with cobblestone streets and painted houses. You'll visit Alto Da Se observation deck for views of both Olinda and Recife's skyline. After that, you'll head to Recife airport for a flight to Jericoacoara (or through Fortaleza if needed) and rest at your hotel.

Jericoacoara
You'll explore Jericoacoara, an unspoiled beach town within Sandy National Park. A buggy excursion takes you to Praia Beach, Lagun Beach Club, Lagoa Paraiso (Paradise Lagoon), and Lagoa do Amancio (Loving Lagoon). By evening, you'll watch the sunset at the 'Por-do-Sol' dune.

Jericoacoara to Parnaiba
You'll travel from Jericoacoara to Parnaiba with quite a bit to do along the way. You'll drive along the beach and board a boat to look for seahorses. Then you'll take a ferry to Mangue beach to see mangrove forests and try out the swings and hammocks. After that comes sand boarding and dune bashing. You'll also visit Lago Adetota lagoon, Tatajuba Beach (Desert Beach), and Camocim Beach before arriving in Parnaiba and checking into your hotel.

You'll start with a morning boat cruise, then drive about 3.5 hours to Barreirinhas, the gateway to Lencois Maranhenses National Park. You'll check in at Porto Preguicas Resort and learn about the park's 1,500+ square kilometers of rolling sand dunes with 70 kilometers of coastline, featuring freshwater lagoons in valleys during rainy season.

Lencois Maranhenses National Park
After breakfast, you'll take a scenic flight over Lencois Maranhenses National Park to see sand dunes and lagoons from above. Then you'll explore by 4WD off-road vehicle, visiting Azul Lagoon, Preguica Lagoon, and Peixes Lagoon. You'll swim in the crystal-clear green water (bring a swimsuit). Later in the afternoon, you'll climb to a high dune to catch the sunset.

São Luis to Amazon

In the evening, you'll take a boat cruise searching for caimans and other wildlife.
