Itinerary
- Day 1
Windhoek to Etosha National Park
You'll get picked up at 07:00 from your Windhoek accommodation and head to Chameleon Safaris headquarters for a briefing. From there, the drive takes you north through Namibia's interior with a supply stop in Otjiwarongo and a picnic lunch along the way. After entering Etosha National Park, you'll spot lions, elephants, rhinos, and giraffes during your first game drive. By evening you're at Halali Camp where dinner gets prepared over an open fire. Later, head to the floodlit waterhole to see nocturnal animals under the stars.

- Day 2
Etosha National Park to Owamboland
An early start gets you out for a final game drive and a look at the vast Etosha Pan, that shimmering salt flat visible from space. You'll exit via King Nehale Gate and travel into Owamboland, home to Namibia's largest ethnic group, the Owambo people. Ongula Village Homestead Lodge becomes your base camp among farmlands and homesteads. After setting up, you'll have a home-cooked Owambo dinner as you enter this new cultural experience.

Owamboland
The day starts with a guided homestead tour learning about Owambo traditions, daily life, and community routines. You'll see how homes get built, meals are prepared, and local brew is made while hearing stories passed down through generations. This happens where real people live and work, so being open leads to more sharing. After lunch, choose from donkey cart rides, clay pot-making, traditional dance and drumming, or agricultural experiences. Dinner happens around the fire sharing stories under the night sky.

Owamboland to Epupa Falls
After breakfast you pack up and head north then westward into different landscapes to reach Ruacana Waterfalls where the river plunges over rocks. Next to the falls stands Namibia's largest electricity-generating facility, the Ruacana Hydro Electric Power Station, which provides about 50% of the country's power. Lunch happens along the way, then you continue to Omarunga Camp at Epupa Falls for a two-night stay. An optional short hike to a lookout point offers views during sundowner drinks before your guide prepares a hearty campfire meal.

Epupa Falls
Be ready by 08:00 for a visit to a traditional Himba Village where you'll learn about this semi-nomadic community's ancient customs and how they've lived in this remote region for centuries. Back at camp after lunch, you can choose between a peaceful Kunene River Walk for birdwatching or River Rafting for more adventure. A campfire dinner prepared by your guide ends the day.

Epupa Falls to Ongongo Waterfall
After breakfast you head south toward Opuwo, a frontier town and supply stop, then continue deeper into remote southern Kaokoland. Ongongo Waterfall Campsite sits in a secluded canyon with crystal-clear pools and gentle waterfalls, the name meaning 'magical' in Herero. The afternoon opens up for swimming, relaxing, and connecting with this hidden gem in the dry landscape.

Kaokoland to Damaraland
You start with a morning swim before heading into Damaraland's stark beauty. Your guide shares information about the unique plants of this arid region during stops along the way. After lunch, explore the UNESCO-listed Twyfelfontein rock engravings containing over 2,500 petroglyphs created by ancient San people thousands of years ago. Madisa Camp sits tucked among massive granite boulders and becomes your base for a peaceful evening.

- Day 8
Damaraland
Today focuses on finding desert-adapted elephants, a population that evolved to survive in one of Earth's harshest climates. You'll join a local guide in an open 4x4 to track these creatures, learning to read the land and follow spoor. A meal back at camp follows, then you enjoy your last Damaraland sunset.

Damaraland
After breakfast you journey to the striking Erongo Mountains, a landscape shaped by ancient volcanic activity. Following lunch at camp, visit the Living Museum of the Ju/'Hoansi-San for hands-on engagement with the San people, also known as Bushmen. You'll learn to make fire, craft tools, track animals, and shoot a bow and arrow while enjoying their engaging storytelling. Your final night at camp features fire and shared stories reflecting on the journey.

Damaraland to Windhoek
A guided walk shows you ancient San rock paintings, one last look at Namibia's earliest inhabitants before returning to Windhoek. A short stop at Wilhemstahl Road Stall lets carnivores buy the freshest biltong and droewors made on site by the farmer, while vegetarians find fruit and vegetable farmstyle goods. Everyone gets their first quality coffee in 10 days. A final stop at Okahandja Craft Market for souvenirs happens before you reach your accommodation in late afternoon.
