San Salvador
You'll land at El Salvador's international airport where your driver guide meets you. From there, you head to your hotel in San Benito, which is San Salvador's main business and upscale district. It's a good chance to settle in and get oriented after your flight.

- Day 2
San Salvador - Suchitoto - San Salvador
Start your morning in San Salvador by checking out Plaza Libertad, the National Palace, National Theater, and the brutalist Iglesia El Rosario. Then you'll drive about 1.5 hours to Suchitoto, where you can wander through colonial streets lined with colorful houses. Stop by Iglesia Santa Lucia (the white church) and visit filmmaker Alejandro Coto's house before heading back to San Salvador for the evening.

- Day 3
San Salvador to Ataco
Today focuses on Mayan heritage. You'll visit Joya de Ceren Archaeological Park, a UNESCO site that shows how pre-Columbian Mayan farmers lived. Next comes San Andres Archaeological Park to see structures and indigo mills. After lunch in the relaxed town of Santa Ana, you'll check out Tazumal, which has El Salvador's largest pyramid. By evening you're settled in Ataco.

Ataco
Your morning takes you along the Flower Route (Ruta de las Flores), passing through charming towns, lagoons, and waterfalls. In the afternoon, head to Cerro Verde National Park to see El Salvador's volcanic landscape. You'll do a short hike around Cerro Verde Volcano's crater, see orchids in the garden, and get views of Lake Coatepeque and Izalco Volcano. You'll spend the night in the park.

Cerro Verde National Park to Copan, Honduras
After breakfast, you'll hike 3 hours up Santa Ana Volcano, moving through jungle until you hit the barren rocky volcanic area. From the summit, you can explore the crater and see the contrast between dark rocks and the green sulfurous lake. Later you'll drive about 4.5 hours across El Salvador, through Guatemala, and into Honduras to reach Copan. Your guide handles all border procedures and fees. You'll have free time to relax at your hotel near the central plaza.

Copan
You'll spend time at the Copan archaeological complex, checking out the Hieroglyphic Stairway, the Mayan Ball Court, and Sepulturas. In the afternoon, visit the Sculpture Museum to see steles and stone carvings from the ruins, including Rosalila (the most complete surviving temple from the Maya). You'll finish up at the small Museo de Arqueologia Maya.

Copan to San Pedro Sula
This morning you continue at Las Sepulturas ('tombs'), which has over a hundred compounds and dozens of private plazas. Then take a leisurely walk through Macaw Mountain Bird Park & Nature Reserve, where macaws (the symbol of the Mayan sun god) are featured. In the afternoon, you'll drive about 3.5 hours to San Pedro Sula, stopping for a small tour of the commercial and residential areas before reaching your hotel.

Your driver guide takes you to the airport this morning for a flight to Roatan Island. When you land, you'll be picked up and transferred to your hotel on West Bay beach, the island's most well-known area. On the way you'll pass through Coxen Hole, Roatan's largest city, with nice coastal views. The rest of the day is yours to do what you want.

Roatan Island
Today you have freedom to plan your own activities. Consider heading to Gumbalimba Park in the north during the cool morning hours. The park has hiking trails and a suspension bridge over a pond that lead you to native creatures and wildlife.

Roatan Island
