Itinerary
- Day 1
Vancouver to Kamloops
Start early and get to Rocky Mountaineer Vancouver Station by 7:15 AM, or arrange a shuttle from your hotel. You'll board the train and travel all day through BC landscapes, starting with the Fraser Valley's farmlands and moving into the dramatic Fraser Canyon toward Hell's Gate. Three-course breakfast and lunch are served onboard while you follow the historic Thompson River route. By evening (around 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM) you'll arrive in Kamloops with the rest of the day free.

Kamloops to Banff
Board the Rocky Mountaineer early from Kamloops and head deeper into the Canadian Rockies. The route takes you through Rogers Pass, the Spiral Tunnels, and Kicking Horse Pass, shifting from BC's interior ranchlands to tall alpine peaks. Breakfast and lunch come onboard while you pass historic railway sites, mountain passes, and ancient glaciers. You'll arrive in Banff between 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM, and a shuttle will take you to your hotel.

- Day 3
Banff - Icefields Parkway
Spend your day driving the Icefields Parkway, one of the world's best scenic routes. Start at Bow Lake where you can see mountain reflections and watch for wildlife. Next you'll head to the Columbia Icefield to either ride an Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier or cross the glass-floored Glacier Skywalk for wide-open views. Stop at Peyto Lake to see its bright turquoise waters, then finish at Crowfoot Glacier where guides discuss climate change effects. The whole route covers 232 km of mountain views, glaciers, and alpine lakes between Banff and Jasper.

- Day 4
Banff Area - Lake Louise - Moraine Lake - Rogers Pass - Vernon/Kelowna
Check out two iconic alpine lakes today. Start with Lake Louise where you'll have about 2 hours to walk the shoreline and photograph the turquoise water with Victoria Glacier as the backdrop. Then head to seasonal Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks for roughly 45 minutes to see the emerald-colored scenery. You'll pass through Rogers Pass, a historic site that helped connect Canada. Before heading to Vernon or Kelowna for the evening, stop at Dutchman Farm for fresh local ice cream.

- Day 5
Vernon/Kelowna - Okanagan Region - Vancouver
On your final day, travel through the scenic Okanagan Lake area and stop at a VQA Winery to see how local wine is made. You'll pass Merritt Town on the way back toward Vancouver. Breakfast happens at your hotel, followed by a Chinese lunch during travel, then dinner at your hotel as you head back to Vancouver and wrap up your Rocky Mountaineer journey.
