Itinerary
- Day 1
Nairobi
You'll arrive in Kenya and check in at Kenya Comfort Hotel. This first day is really about settling in and getting oriented after your journey. The hotel staff will help you adjust to the local time and give you a rundown of what's coming up over the next couple of weeks.
Landmarks Masai Mara National Reserve 
- Day 2
Nairobi to Masai Mara
From Nairobi, you'll drive toward Masai Mara, climbing up the escarpment to see views of the Great Rift Valley. Along the way, you'll pass through Masai land where cattle herds dot the landscape, go through Narok, and watch for wildlife from the road. By evening you'll reach your tented campsite and get settled in.

Landmarks Great Rift Valley Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 3
Masai Mara
Early morning game drive searching for the Big 5 (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard) and other wildlife throughout Masai Mara Reserve. During certain seasons, you'll see large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and Thomson's gazelle. In the afternoon, there's an option to visit a traditional Masai Manyatta hamlet. Back at camp, you'll gather around the campfire as the sun goes down.

Landmarks Masai Mara National Reserve - Day 4
Masai Mara to Eldoret
Leaving Masai Mara early, you'll drive through tea plantations in Kericho as you descend the Rift Valley Plateau toward Eldoret. The scenery shifts from wildlife country to agricultural landscapes. You'll set up your tented camp in the evening after the drive.

Eldoret to Kampala
You'll cross into Uganda early this morning and head to Kampala, the capital city. Uganda's landscape is quite different from Kenya, with green fertile areas near Lake Victoria and the snow-capped Ruwenzori Mountains visible to the west. After arriving in Kampala, you'll settle into your camp for the night.

- Day 6
Kampala to Lake Bunyoni
Departing Kampala early, you'll drive west into Uganda to reach Lake Bunyoni, a crater lake and Africa's deepest. This becomes your base for the optional gorilla trekking experience. You'll stay here at a tented camp with shared facilities for the next two nights.

Landmarks Lake Bunyoni Bwindi National Park Magahinga National Park - Day 7
Lake Bunyoni to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After completing your gorilla trekking, you'll leave Lake Bunyoni and head toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes you through different terrain as you transition regions. You'll arrive at your campsite just outside the park and get settled for the evening.

Landmarks Queen Elizabeth National Park - Day 8
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Spending the full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you'll do game drives searching for elephant herds. A highlight is the boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes George and Edward and offers chances to see wildlife from the water. You'll return to camp outside the park by evening.

Landmarks Queen Elizabeth National Park Kazinga Channel - Day 9
Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kampala
You'll begin the drive back toward Kampala, crossing the Equator for the second time. There's a stop at the equator line for the classic photo opportunity with one foot in each hemisphere. After arriving in Kampala this evening, you'll have time to check out the city's nightlife and restaurants.

Kampala
This is a more relaxed day in Kampala after all your trekking and game driving. You'll cross the Equator once more for another photo at the line dividing the hemispheres. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city's restaurants, bars, and entertainment, or just rest if you prefer.

Kampala to Jinja
You have several options today. Head to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, or go to Jinja for activities like white water rafting at the source of the White Nile, quad biking, or visiting community projects. In the afternoon, relax by the river and watch for birds. You'll end the day at your campsite in Jinja.

Landmarks Source of the Nile - Day 12
Jinja to Nakuru
Starting early for the drive back into Kenya, you'll stop for lunch and supplies along the way. You'll arrive outside Nakuru in the evening and set up camp. Nakuru is Kenya's 4th largest town and sits right next to Lake Nakuru National Park, which is known for its wildlife.

- Day 13
Nakuru
Exploring Lake Nakuru National Park, you'll see thousands of flamingos (both lesser and greater) gathered at the soda lake's edge. When water levels are right, the lake appears almost pink. You'll search for black and white rhinos, leopards, buffalo, giraffes, various antelope, and hippos throughout the day. Back at camp by late afternoon.

Landmarks Lake Nakuru National Park - Day 14
Lake Naivasha
Traveling to Lake Naivasha, you'll find abundant bird life including African Fish Eagles. This is the highest Rift Valley lake at 1,880 meters/6,169 feet. Optional activities include visiting Elsamere (home of Joy and George Adamson from Born Free), boat rides to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary, or biking around Hell's Gate National Park. You'll spend the night at a lakeside campsite.

Landmarks Lake Naivasha Crescent Island Game Sanctuary Hell's Gate National Park - Day 15
Lake Naivasha to Nairobi
After breakfast, you'll head back to Nairobi, typically arriving by late morning or early afternoon. The rest of your day is open. You can visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to watch baby elephants being fed, see giraffes at the Giraffe Centre in Langata, explore Nairobi National Park, browse curio markets, or dine at the famous Carnivores restaurant before heading home.
