Your driver meets you at Budapest airport and takes you to the Emerald Cruises Star-Ship where you'll be based. You can spend the rest of the day wandering around Budapest on your own, checking out whatever interests you. Tonight there's a traditional Hungarian folklore show on board followed by dinner.

Budapest
Take a guided coach tour through Budapest's architecture, stopping at Heroes' Square, Andrássy Avenue, and the Buda Castle District. Or if you prefer something more active, hike up Gellert Hill where you'll get panoramic views over the Danube and the city's roofline.

Bratislava
This morning the ship heads to Bratislava. A walking tour shows you the city's medieval character including the Episcopal Summer Palace and Slovak National Theatre. Later you can join a local family for coffee and cake, or walk around the peaceful Bratislava Castle gardens. Optional Skoda tour or Carpathian wine route available for additional cost.

You arrive in Vienna where a guided tour takes you through the Kunsthistorisches Museum, one of Europe's major art collections, plus the wide boulevards and ornate Baroque palaces. Alternatively cycle along the riverbanks past Danube Island and the famous Prater with its old-fashioned Ferris wheel. Optional evening concert available for extra cost.

Wachau Valley - Dürnstein
Start the morning with a guided tour of Göttweig Abbey, a significant Benedictine monastery in Austria, including wine tasting and views of the UNESCO-listed Wachau Valley. After boarding, the ship sails through this scenic region to Dürnstein. You can hike to Dürnstein Castle ruins or take a guided bike tour through terraced vineyards and historic sites.

Passau
Following a morning of sailing, you arrive at Passau, the 'city of three rivers' where the Danube, Inn, and Ilz meet. A guided tour covers the city's notable Gothic and Baroque buildings. Explore on your own or join an optional bike tour along the River Inn. The evening brings sailing toward Regensburg. Optional Bavarian Traditions excursion available for extra cost.

Regensburg
Regensburg comes into view, a city built on an old Roman fort. Your guided walking tour takes you through the UNESCO-listed medieval center with its narrow stone lanes and tall buildings, plus a local Bavarian sausage tasting. Alternatively, bike to the Walhalla monument for views across the landscape. Tonight there's a traditional Bavarian band performance on the ship.

After breakfast, you transfer from the ship to a hotel in central Munich. The rest of the day is yours to wander around the city however you'd like.

Munich
After breakfast, a guided tour shows you the former Olympic site, Nymphenburg Palace, Maximilianstrasse, Parliament, National Theater, and Munich's Residenz. Then walk through Marienplatz to see the famous Glockenspiel. After that, head to the Oktoberfest grounds where you'll enter the tent and enjoy a typical Oktoberfest meal like a local.
