I am trying t plan my 50th birthday and want to spend it on the top of the Andes Mountains in the beautiful Machu Pichu. I need to plan this trip accordingly to be in the city on the 4th of September. I also would like to see the surrounding cities adjacent to Machu Pichu

It would not be possible to reach Machu Picchu on the 4th September on this particular tour, due to the specific departure dates involved. You reach Machu Picchu on Day 6 of this tour and the available dates don't fall into that time for you.

My wife walks slower sometime, we do not plan to book the optional trail hike. Will this be a problem? Also we heard there is an issue with buses, has this been resolved?

During the tour, the CEO (tour leader) should account for the walking pace as needed by the tour group. If your wife walks slower at times, ensure to note this in her Good to Go profile so that we may further add it as a CEO note to the booking as a heads up. However, as our Peru tours tend to have a 3/5 physical rating, which we call "average," the walking speed should follow a standard pacing with some adjustment available as based on the groups and itinerary needs. Could you elaborate on what you mean by bus issues? Furthermore, since this tour is from our Solo-ish travel style, the two of you will not be permitted to create a booking as these tours are intended to have only solo-travellers book. As an alternative, perhaps our Machu Picchu Adventure from our Classic travel style would be of interest? It itinerary routing looks to be exactly the same and the two of you would be permitted to make a booking together!
