For the trekking portion you should be able to leave your larger luggage in Chiang Mai at the hotel and just carry the essentials you'll need for the 2 day trek as we will be returning to Chiang Mai after the trek. Aside from the overnight train for 2 nights you will also stay in a hotel (3 nights) and Hilltribe Village House (2nights). This trip is open to all travelers however, we do see majority of solo travelers booking on. For any meals that are not included there will always be options nearby for the group. All meals will be included for the trek and then when we are in the city we tend to stay very centrally located so finding a meal is never an issue. For this trip you will always have a tour leader with the group traveling along, providing info. and ready to assist if needed, and depending on the activity a local leader will also join. Aside from the trek we tend to plan our days by traveling or doing an included activity in the morning so that the afternoons are free to everyone to do as they please.

Only local destinations in Thailand. Since that they are on their 60s travelling with teenagers, they are not into party scene. More on adventures and or cultural tours. They are on a tight budget so the transportation doesnt require to be plane, it may be by any means except plane.

She was not only a local, extrmeley knowledgable, and possessing of a great personality- she was close in age to me as well and felt almost like a fellow groupee. We WANTED her to come to dinner with us and come out with us because she was so much fun! This tour was a fantastic taste-test of Northern Thailand. We got doses of history, culture, and modern attractions. There was a lot of time spent on the road as we traveled between destinations, but even that wasn't terrible because we got to see lots of the countryside. Our guide, fondly called "Rainy", was absolutely fantastic! She helped us book additional services, alternative day tours, and helped us find different attractions in whatever area we happened to be. She also divulged a wealth of information about different historical/cultural sites along the way. I left the tour a day early because I wanted to stay in Chiang Mai long enough to see the Lantern Festival over New Year, and Rainy helped me get a ride to my hotel even as the rest of the tour was boarding the night train back to Bangkok. Overall a wonderful tour, lots of fun, but give yourself enough financial wiggle room for a few extra activities and you'll enjoy it even more :)Show more

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.

- The following cards are accepted for "Intrepid Travel" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of Intrepid Travel. Please familiarize yourself with the Intrepid Travel payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
Insurance
Our travel protection from our award-winning partner, XCover, means you and your travel companions can book with peace of mind knowing there’s protection available in case your trip doesn’t go to plan. At checkout you will be able to select between different options in case you or the tour are eligible for insurance. In case no option is available, you are always able to purchase travel insurance outside of TourRadar.
