This is my fourth or fifth tour I booked through TourRadar. When I booked the first trip, what I appreciated was dealing directly with the tour operator. This trip was booked on this site under one name but the tours were all operated by different companies. That by itself was not the issue but we should have been told. The final itinerary including the hotel details were not provided to us until a week ago from the third tier company. Details of each day’s activity was minimal. While the local guides were friendly and helpful, very few of them had any in-depth knowledge of the sites or the cities. It was as if they were reading from google. I understand the tourism infrastructure is still in development, so the hotels were ok in decent neighborhoods. Most of were in need of some plumbing repair or other. The tour itinerary could be improved. No tour in Guatemala City or San Salvador even though we spent a night there. Many nights we had to message the operator to find out pick up time etc for the next day instead of the other way around. This was not a cheap tour by any means and we expected better.Show more
