- Day 1
Amsterdam
You'll have the day to yourself in Amsterdam before meeting your Travel Director and group this evening. Dinner with wine happens at a local restaurant in the city center. Later, you'll take a canal cruise through the tree-lined waterways and see the architectural highlights from Amsterdam's Golden Age in the Old City.

Amsterdam to Heidelberg
Head through the Rhine Valley where you'll spot quaint villages and hilltop castles while learning about the Lorelei Rock legend. From there, follow the Neckar River to Heidelberg. An orientation with your Travel Director takes you through the city, and you'll visit Heidelberg Castle during the afternoon.

- Day 3
Heidelberg to Innsbruck
Travel through the Black Forest and Bavarian Alps, stopping to see Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein Castle, which reportedly inspired Disney's castle design. Cross into Austria and arrive in Innsbruck. You'll walk the Old Town with your Travel Director, seeing the Imperial Palace and Golden Roof among other historic buildings.

Innsbruck to Venice
After crossing into Italy, you'll drive through the Dolomites with alpine villages and vineyard-covered hills all around. Stop at a family-run winery in the Veneto region to learn about spumante production and do a tasting. Later you'll reach Venice and have dinner with your Travel Director and companions.

Venice
Start with a glassblowing workshop where you'll see traditional Venetian craftsmanship. Take a private cruise to St. Mark's Square to see the Basilica, Doge's Palace, and Bridge of Sighs. The rest of your day is free, and you can optionally cruise to Burano for local food and crafts if you'd like.

Venice to Rome
Drive through the Apennine Mountains, then into the calm countryside of Tuscany and Umbria. Follow the Tiber River toward Rome. By evening you'll have dinner at your host's place for an authentic Italian experience.

- Day 7
Rome
Work with a Local Expert to see Rome's major art and architecture. You'll visit the Vatican Museums including the Sistine Chapel, then see St. Peter's Basilica. Cross the Tiber to check out the Colosseum. Later in the day there's an exclusive after-hours visit to the Basilica of Saint Praxedes and its Byzantine mosaics.

Rome to Florence
Travel to the Chianti Hills and arrive in Florence. A Local Expert guides you through Renaissance sites including the Duomo with its colored marble and the baptistery with the Gates of Paradise. You'll see Piazza della Signoria with its fountains and statues. Afternoon is yours for shopping or an optional visit to see Michelangelo's David at the Accademia Gallery. Dinner happens at a local trattoria.

Florence to Italian Lake District
Head north past Milan into the Italian Lake District where Alpine mountains meet subtropical plants. You'll have the afternoon free at this resort area. There's an optional cruise to Isola Bella to tour the palace and gardens, or you can explore on your own. Choose from hand-picked restaurants for dinner.

Italian Lake District to Lucerne
Spend your final Lake District morning before heading into Switzerland. Take an open-top solar-powered cable car up Mount Stanserhorn and walk scenic trails while spotting marmots and other wildlife. A Swiss ranger gives a talk about local conservation efforts. Later you'll reach Lucerne where the afternoon is free, with an optional Lake Lucerne cruise.

Your evening is free, and there's an option to catch a cabaret show.
