- Day 1
Adelaide
You'll arrive in Adelaide and get oriented with a welcome drink before diving into the city's highlights. The day takes you through Adelaide Oval, then the Botanic Garden where there's plenty of space to walk around. From there you'll see the Art Gallery of South Australia and check out Adelaide Central Market with its local food stalls and produce. By evening you're free to head to North Terrace, which is packed with restaurants and bars if you want to grab dinner and enjoy some nightlife.

Adelaide to Flinders Ranges
After leaving Adelaide, you're heading north into Clare Valley wine country. At Knappstein Enterprise Winery you'll do a cellar door tasting and have lunch in town. Then the coach takes you through some remarkable landscapes that honestly feel a bit otherworldly before reaching Wilpena Pound Resort in the Flinders Ranges. The resort is Indigenous-owned and managed, which gives you a sense of the region's cultural significance.

Flinders Ranges to Arkaroola
You start early at Wangara Lookout to take in the expansive views across Wilpena Pound. As you move north through the gorges, keep your eyes open for yellow-footed rock wallabies, which are endangered and live in this region. Later you'll arrive in Arkaroola where ancient granite mountains and golden spinifex-covered hills surround you. By evening there's an astronomy tour so you can see the night sky without city lights getting in the way.

Arkaroola to Marree
This day involves the Ridgetop Track with steep slopes and challenging climbs, but a local guide will be with you explaining the geology going back 1.6 billion years. After that you're heading northwest to the Ochre Cliffs near Lyndhurst, where the red and orange colors really stand out against the landscape. You'll pass through the ghost town of Farina before ending up in Marree for the night.

Marree to Coober Pedy
You'll travel the historic Oodnadatta Track learning about the old Ghan Railway that once ran through here. The main highlight is a scenic flight included in the day, where you see Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and the Anna Creek Painted Hills from the air. After exploring the unusual countryside around there, you head to Coober Pedy where you'll be staying for two nights.

Coober Pedy
Coober Pedy is unique since much of the town is built underground to escape the heat. You'll explore the subterranean areas and have a chance to fossick for opals in surrounding mines. At Kanku-Breakaways Conservation Park, which is Aboriginal-owned, you get a different perspective on the land and its cultural history. You can also try golfing at the Coober Pedy Opal Fields Golf Club where the fairways are dirt, and visit the Big Winch cinema to see 360-degree views of South Australia's explorer routes.

Coober Pedy to Port Augusta
Lake Hart is a vast saltpan with an interesting history, though today it's mostly empty after being briefly inhabited in the 1930s. You'll learn about Woomera, the enormous military base established by the British in 1947 for testing atomic bombs, ballistic missiles, and satellite boosters. From there you'll make your way toward Port Augusta for the evening.

Port Augusta to Adelaide
You're traveling to the Barossa, one of Australia's oldest wine regions where the vineyards have deep roots. At Lambert Estate you'll do wine tasting and have lunch while looking out over the vineyard landscapes. In the afternoon you'll fly out from Adelaide, heading home with memories of everything from underground opal towns to ancient mountain ranges and sprawling wine country.
