Your cycling distance will be approximately 43 km/27 miles with an elevation gain of 440 m/1,445 ft

What time do we leave in the am and what time do we finish our Croatia bike tour?

There is no cycling on Day 1 only a welcome meeting that will take place at 6pm. Same goes for the last day (Day 7) no cycling involved, the group will get to Dubrovnik the day before (day 6) so everyone is free to depart on Day 7 whenever they please. At the welcome meeting the tour leader will go over the daily sechudle and what time everyone is expected to be up and ready each day.

On this trip we use either the Kross Evado or Kross Hexagon mountain bikes. The actual bike type will vary per departure, but both bikes have a very similar ride. The bikes feature an aluminium frame, front suspension, flat bar, disc brakes, 40 mm tyres, and Shimano gears. E-bike are available on request and have an additional fee. We use the 2024 Velo De Ville AEB 400 Classic e-bike, featuring a step-thru aluminium frame style, fixed fork, with 10 speed Shimano CUES shifting system, disc brakes, Bosch Active Line Plus 545 Wh motor, and 28" wheels with 50mm tyres. Our e-bikes come in the following sizes - Size S (45cm) - 160-170cm, Size M (50cm) - 168-177cm, Size L (55cm) - 175-186cm.

There were many wonderful aspects to the trip but just two things stopped me from giving it a 1. First I did not like losing a good part of the day being refitted for new bikes on the second week. I purchased s two week trip and had no expectation that it was two one week trips linked together with a wasted morning for fitting and a second orientation night in the middle. Secondly the fitness level required for the second week should have had a higher level of fitness requirement from week one ( week 1 a 3, week 2 a 4). My other reason was some of the choices for bike routes. The traffic route heading in and out of Mostar was high traffic and gas stations which are of little interest and dangerous while we could have added mileage on other parts of the day In and around Tara canyon and Piva canyon.Show more

  We use mountain bikes because the terrain is hilly with climbs up to 7 km and gradients up to 8%. Mountain bikes offer better gears and control on steep ascents and descents, and handle occasional rough road patches better than road bikes.
