Darwin
You'll arrive in Darwin and have the day to get oriented to the Northern Territory capital at your own pace. The local characters here are just as colorful as the sunsets you'll see. This evening, you'll join your driver guide and fellow travelers for drinks and dinner, which kicks off your 11-day journey nicely.

- Day 2
Darwin
A guided city tour walks you through Darwin's history shaped by wars and natural disasters. You'll stop at East Point Military Reserve and the Museum and Art Gallery Northern Territory. After that, the afternoon is open for you to spend however you like. The Royal Flying Doctor Service Tourist Facility is worth checking out, or head to Mindil Beach Sunset Market with over 200 stalls, then watch the sunset from the beach.

Kakadu
You'll start your morning with a tour of the Adelaide River Flood Plains through Pudakul, a 100% Aboriginal-owned family business. The tour covers First Nations heritage through art, music, and bush tucker. From there, you head into Kakadu, a UNESCO World Heritage national park and one of Australia's most important living ecosystems.

Kakadu
The morning begins with a scenic flight over Kakadu (which spans almost 20,000 square kilometers) to get a sense of its scale from the air. Then you'll explore the land on the ground, seeing ancient Aboriginal rock art and cruising Yellow Water Billabong to search for saltwater crocodiles with your local guide.

- Day 6
Tennant Creek
The day takes you to Elsey Homestead, famous from the 1982 film 'We of the Never Never,' now known for Mataranka thermal hot springs. You'll get to soak in the warm waters surrounded by palms. Later, you stop at Daly Waters Pub, Australia's self-declared 'original outback pub,' where visitors traditionally leave marks as mementos. By evening you'll arrive in Tennant Creek with a new appreciation for outback life.

Alice Springs

Later, climbing Anzac Hill in Alice Springs gives you panoramic views where the East and West MacDonnell Ranges stretch out to the horizon.

You'll also visit the School of the Air to learn about outback and remote learning.
