Overall guides were very good! Little confusion about tips to locals. We thought that’s what the $200 entry fee was for but it was a tax. So maybe clearer communication about tip expectation so travelers can be prepared.

What our customers ask about Boat Tours & Trips
What kind of weather conditions can I expect during a Mediterranean boat tour?
You'll find the best sailing weather from May to September in the Mediterranean. Summer days are warm and sunny, with temperatures between 75-90°F (24-32°C), very little rain, and calm waters. If you prefer milder weather, plan your trip for May or September when temperatures cool down to 65-75°F (18-24°C). On the Celestyal Journey cruise ship, you can cool off in air-conditioned indoor areas or enjoy the breeze on the open decks.
What are some unique experiences offered on boat tours?
You'll get to combine amazing water activities with cultural discoveries. In Croatia, you can swim in hidden coves around Mljet island, dance at Club Deep (a real cave turned nightclub) in Makarska, and walk through Dubrovnik's UNESCO-listed old town. In Egypt, you can sail on a traditional felucca down the Nile and visit ancient temples along the way. One TourRadar traveler put it well: "The boat was amazing with swimming stops in crystal clear waters and perfect spots for sunset watching - a must do experience!"
What's the best time of year for boat tours in different regions?
Each region has its sweet spot for boat tours. In Croatia, plan your Mediterranean trip between June and September when the weather is warm (75-85°F/24-29°C) with smooth seas and clear skies. For Nile cruises in Egypt, book between October and April to avoid intense heat - temperatures stay comfortable at 70-85°F (21-29°C). Most travelers choose August and September for Croatian sailing, while Egypt's Nile cruises are more popular in winter.
What are some of the highlights I can expect on a boat tour?
You'll see some incredible places from the water. Picture yourself floating through Halong Bay, where emerald waters meet towering limestone cliffs, or sailing past ancient castles along the Rhine River between Koblenz and Rüdesheim. In the Mekong Delta, you can visit floating villages and local markets. As one TourRadar traveler said: "From the Rhine's stunning castles to the mesmerizing Halong Bay sunset, every moment was unforgettable."
What kind of accommodations can I expect on a boat tour?
You'll sleep comfortably in cabin rooms with private bathrooms and modern comforts. Ships like the MS Crucevita offer cozy rooms with en-suite bathrooms, while fancier options like Paradise Sails Cruises in Halong Bay give you rooms with big windows to enjoy the views. On the Mekong, the Lotus Pandaw has beautiful cabins with local furniture. When you're not on the water, you'll stay in nice hotels like the Hilton Pyramids Golf Hotel near the Nile or the Majestic Saigon Hotel by the Saigon River. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The cabin was surprisingly spacious and the gentle rocking of the boat made for the most peaceful sleep."
When is the best time of year to take a boat tour?
It really depends on where you're going. Halong Bay is nicest from October to March with clear skies and mild 70°F (21°C) days. For European river tours, go between April and October when it's 60-75°F (15-24°C) and mostly dry. The Nile is best from October to April, before summer temperatures climb to 104°F (40°C). One TourRadar traveler shared: "We chose April for our Rhine cruise and got perfect spring weather for deck viewing." For any destination, early morning and sunset give you the best light for photos and sightseeing.
