Itinerary
- Day 1
Quito
You'll arrive in Quito, which sits right on the equator and carries serious historical significance as a UNESCO World Heritage site. After checking into your hotel, you have the afternoon to yourself. If you want to wander around the old town on your own, go ahead, or you can arrange a guided tour to get oriented. By 6pm, head down to the hotel lobby to meet your trip leader for a welcome briefing and get all the details about what's coming.

Landmarks Pichincha Volcano - Day 2
Quito to Galapagos Islands
Early morning flight from Quito takes you to the Galapagos. The plane stops in Guayaquil but you stay on board, then lands at Baltra Island. From there, you'll transfer to Puerto Ayora and take a short boat ride over to Isabela Island. Check into your hotel on this volcanically active island, which has six shield volcanoes spread across it.

- Day 3
Isabela Island
The morning focuses on Isabela's dramatic volcanic landscape and lava formations. You'll snorkel at Los Tuneles, a natural marine corridor with clear water tunnels where sea turtles, eagle rays, sea lions, sharks, penguins, and other marine life swim around. After lunch, kayak in Tintoreras to spot more wildlife. Later, you have free time to rent a bike, hang out on white-sand beaches, or visit the giant tortoise breeding center.

Landmarks Los Tuneles Tintoreras Puerto Villamil - Day 4
Isabela Island
Hike up to Sierra Negra Volcano in the highlands, reaching about 1,500 meters with an outer diameter around nine kilometers (it's the world's second largest lava dome). Lunch happens at an organic farm where food gets grilled on lava rock using local produce, and you can relax in a hammock or walk through fruit trails afterward. Afternoon brings another kayak session in the bay spotting penguins, blue-footed boobies, pelicans, marine iguanas, sea turtles, sea lions, and sharks. End the day snorkeling at Concha & Perla beach via a scenic boardwalk through mangroves.

Isabela Island to Santa Cruz Island
Boat takes you from Isabela to Santa Cruz Island and you'll check into your hotel. Next, head to the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn about the endemic species and conservation work happening in the Galapagos. In the afternoon, hike through the Primicias reserve in Santa Cruz's highlands where you'll see iconic Galapagos tortoises and other wildlife. Spend the evening exploring Puerto Ayora, the largest town out here.

- Day 6
Santa Cruz Island to Quito
You have a relaxed morning on Santa Cruz Island before heading to Baltra Airport for your flight back to mainland Ecuador. The plane stops in Guayaquil without changing aircraft, then continues to Quito. Once you arrive in Quito, transfer to your hotel and take it easy on your final evening in Ecuador.
