Reviews About This Operator

This was a great tour- tour director was very well organized and knowledgeable. The name might be incorrect- the day we visited Vatican and Coliseum we walked 16,000 steps, the equivalent of 8 miles. Coach and driver were great with nice leg room. Only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is the first hotel- Room 007, Select Veneto in Rome was a very poor choice compared to the 2 wonderful hotels Insight used in Florence and Venice. Unfortunately we had booked a 2 night extension in Rome so were there for 5 nights. Very small rooms, poor front desk experiences and mediocre breakfast.

Is the pace pretty fast on this trip? I want to travel in June 2027. I will be taking my mom 67, husband, two kids 8 and 3. Is the bus a huge coach bus? Or like a van? Would i need two rooms?

    • Insight VacationsOperatorWritten October 2025

Regarding the pace of the Country Roads of Southern Italy and Sicily (Small Groups) tour: Insight Vacations designs these itineraries with a more relaxed rhythm compared to traditional tours. You'll enjoy scenic routes, longer stays in each location, and deeper cultural experiences. That said, some days do include walking tours and longer travel times, which may feel brisk for younger children or older travelers. Insight Vacations requires all travelers to be at least 5 years old, so unfortunately your 3-year-old wouldn't be eligible to join this tour.
