You'll arrive in Zagreb and check into your hotel for a two-night stay in Croatia's capital. The city has medieval roots going back 900 years, with the older Upper Town perched on a hill and the Lower Town spreading out below with 19th-century architecture. The café culture is lively throughout the city, and there are quirky museums scattered around if you want to explore on your own this evening after settling in.

- Day 2
Zagreb
Start early and head to Plitvice Lakes National Park where you'll walk through the natural landscape connecting 16 lakes by waterfalls. The trails are easy to manage and take you through some nice forest scenery. Back in Zagreb by afternoon, your guided tour covers the Upper Town's medieval sites including the Stone Gate and St Mark's Church, then moves to the Neo-Gothic Cathedral. After lunch you'll see the Lower Town, Ban Jelacic Square, and Dolac Market before returning to your hotel.

Zagreb to Ljubljana
You'll cross into Slovenia today and reach Ljubljana, a compact capital with around 900 years of history. The guided tour includes Ljubljana Castle where you'll see restored buildings and cultural installations, then walk through the medieval Old Town on foot. You'll pass the Franciscan Church with its distinctive pale pink exterior, check out the baroque St Nicholas Cathedral and the Opera House, and finish at the National Museum housed in a former Neo Renaissance palace.

Ljubljana
Travel about 40 minutes north to Bled, a resort town that locals favor but fewer international visitors find. Lake Bled has that glacial blue-green color reflecting the mountains around it. You'll take a traditional Pletna boat out to the Church of the Mother of God, originally built in 1142 and rebuilt in the 17th century, where you can ring the bell and make a wish. Later you'll head back to Ljubljana to spend the evening by the Vancouverica River where cafés line the banks and locals gather for drinks and food.

After breakfast you'll transfer to your Scenic Space-Ship river cruise vessel. The crew will give you a warm welcome and help you get settled into your cabin before the ship prepares to depart on your Danube journey.

Budapest
You'll explore Budapest today with time to do one of three Freechoice options: a coach tour of Buda and Pest separated by the Danube, a walking and coach tour covering the 1956 Hungarian revolution and EU integration, or a goulash cooking class learning traditional family recipes. Between activities or on your own, you might visit thermal baths, browse Central Market Hall, or check out the Jewish Quarter's ruin bars. Your ship departs late evening after you've had time to wander.

The afternoon is free to explore independently or relax in the Panorama Lounge with regional beer and wine before the evening departure.

You'll arrive early in Vienna, the imperial capital known for classical music heritage and Baroque buildings. Choose your Freechoice: tour the former Habsburg summer residence at Schönbrunn Palace with its ornate rooms and gardens, visit acclaimed wine regions, cycle to Klosterneuburg Monastery through vineyards, or check out the Belvedere Museum with its Austrian art collection. Afternoon is at leisure. Later you'll attend an exclusive private classical concert at Palais Liechtenstein featuring Strauss and Mozart performed by orchestra with ballet dancers, plus a glass of Austrian Sekt.

Start with a leisurely morning sailing toward Passau. Have coffee in your suite and enjoy breakfast in Crystal Dining while listening to a lecture on the region's culture and history. Passau sits where the Danube, Inn, and Ilz rivers meet, and the rivers sometimes show three distinct colors where they join. The Old Town has tight laneways, tunnels, and archways plus an Artist's mile with studios and galleries. For your afternoon Freechoice, take a walking tour of the Old Town, learn traditional sausage-making from the 12th century, or explore the city's Jewish heritage and what happened during WWII. Return to the ship by coach.

Nuremberg
You'll arrive in Nuremberg after lunch. The 12th-century Imperial Castle dominates the Old Town which is surrounded by ancient city walls. The area also has famous Christmas Markets, but the city carries significant WWII history as a Nazi party rally site and home to the 1945-1946 trials. Choose your afternoon Freechoice: medieval Old Town walking tour including the castle and St Lawrence Church, a WWII history tour of the Rally Grounds and Courtroom 600, or an underground cellars tour with local beer tasting. Evening is free for independent exploration before your farewell dinner and toast aboard ship.
