I am interested in the 8-day End of the World Tour for $1,438. I am curious if you help to arrange flights. Also am wondering how strenuous the hikes are as I am 63. Finally I will be travelling alone and have never done this before.

Most passengers usually get better deals when buying flights directly from the airlines. We can also assist you on which schedule/airlines are more convenient. If you find it necessary that we help you book the flight, we can do it as well. I don't think your age will be a problem for the activities planned on this itinerary. These are not very strenuous activities as far as I know.

    Asked on September 21st, 2025

I would like to know if there is an existing group or any participant booked around November 19th, 2025, as I would prefer to join a group with a group guide rather than traveling individually or on a customized tour. Could you please also let me know if there an option to do this tour in reverse direction, starting in Ushuaia and ending in El Calafate?

Do you want us to quote a new trip that covers all? Option 1: Ushuaia - El Calafate - Puerto Natales - Punta Arenas. Option 2: Ushuaia - El Calafate - Puerto Natales - El Calafate. Option 3: Ushuaia - bus to Punta Arenas - Puerto Natales - El Calafate.

    Asked on August 10th, 2025

Can we fly from El Calafate to Ushuaia instead of taking the bus? One of us has severe motion sickness and would not do well on a 15-18 hour bus ride. If so, can we just book our own flights?

Can you provide descriptions of the different accommodation options - hostel vs. hotel 3 vs. hotel 4 (all for double occupancy)?

    • Hi Travel ArgentinaOperatorWritten August 2025

Yes, we could do the following: 1-Discount the bus prices for you to contract your own flight. 2-Help you look for the flights and let you know the price in our end. Flights prices are very changing so we never know what option is best. In reference to the accomodation, we work with the following, if they are available: El Calafate: Hostel: Del Glaciar Pioneros or Calafate Hostel. Hotel 3*: Rincon del Calafate or Sent Calafate. Hotel 4*: Mirador del Lago or Calafate Parque. Ushuaia: Hostel: Yaghan Hostel. Hotel 3*: Altos de Ushuaia or Los Naranjos. Hotel 4*: Hotel Albatros.

    Asked on June 25th, 2025

is the bus a sleeper bus or is it a normal sitting bus?

    Transport
    • Hi Travel ArgentinaOperatorWritten June 2025

We usually book sleeper buses for this route, as they offer extra comfort with more reclining seats. However, since availability can sometimes be limited, we may also reserve semi-sleeper, which is still a comfortable and reliable option for long-distance travel.

    • K

      Karen

      TravelerWritten June 2025

Are the roads usually decent? I would hate to get stuck on the road anywhere and be late for our itinerary.

    • Hi Travel ArgentinaOperatorWritten June 2025

Yes, the roads are in good condition. The entire route follows well-maintained, paved highways, including the final section into Ushuaia, which winds through the mountains but is also paved and safe for travel. So while it's a long trip, it's a well-traveled route and you shouldn't expect any major road issues or disruptions that could affect the itinerary.

    • K

      Karen

      TravelerWritten June 2025

The website says the tour is "independent style." What exactly does that mean? Will I be traveling on the buses alone? Will I still have a guide at each destination?

    • Hi Travel ArgentinaOperatorWritten June 2025

This means you are taking an independent trip. You won't be having a group trip or travel coordinator/leader. You are travelling by yourself. The only thing you will be sharing with other people are the tours and buses, which are services that are hired by other people as well. You will have to get to the bus stations by your own means, but the bus services are regular. You will be travelling with other people who are heading to the same destination as you. You will have guides when you are having your tours, meaning: in Perito Moreno Glacier Tour, in Torres del Paine National Park Tour, in Tierra del Fuego National Park, in the Sea Lion Colony Boat Trip.

      TravelerWritten June 2025

Would I need to arrange private transportation or is it doable via public transportation?

    • Hi Travel ArgentinaOperatorWritten June 2025

There's a public bus that leaves from El Calafate at 8:00AM and arrives at El Chalten at 11AM. To go back to El Calafate there could be a bus at 6PM or the usual at 9PM. This 6PM bus usually runs on high season but we don't know the exact date it starts it's services.

Is it possible to ride the Austral Fueguino train after one of the half-day tours in Ushuaia?

    • K

      Karen

      TravelerWritten July 2025

With the regular transfers to El Chalten, will that be sufficient time to hike Laguna de los Tres? I will need to know where the transport drops me off and how to get to the trailhead from there.

    • Hi Travel ArgentinaOperatorWritten July 2025

Regarding the Laguna de los Tres hike, please note that it usually takes about 7 to 8 hours round trip. If you're in good physical condition and feel confident, it is possible to do it the same day you arrive in El Chaltén. As a recommendation, it would be ideal to spend one night in El Chaltén so you can start the hike early in the morning and return in time for the last bus to El Calafate without rushing.
