Nalemuru Gate to Simba Camp
You'll meet your guide and support crew at the hotel for a briefing before driving to Kilimanjaro National Park's northern entrance at Nalemuru Gate. After handling permit formalities, the trek begins through coniferous forest on the northern slope heading to Simba Camp. This moderate 3-4 hour hike gains about 600 meters in elevation, so pace yourself as you get acclimated to the terrain.

Simba Camp to Second Cave Camp
After breakfast, you'll trek to Second Cave Camp on an easy route that takes about 3 hours. There's time to rest and explore the area before lunch. Later in the afternoon, your group does an acclimatization hike gaining 100 meters toward Kikilewa Camp and then returns to camp. This short climb helps your body adjust and reduces altitude sickness risk.

Second Cave Camp to Kikilewa Camp

In the evening, your guide checks on everyone's health and provides a briefing for the next day's hike.

Landmarks Kibo Volcano - Day 4
Kikilewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
An early wake-up and breakfast get you started before trekking to Mawenzi Tarn Camp at the foot of Mawenzi Volcano, Kilimanjaro's second summit. After lunch and a two-hour rest, you'll do an acclimatization hike gaining 200 meters toward Mawenzi Volcano before heading back to camp for dinner.

Landmarks Mawenzi Volcano - Day 5
Mawenzi Tarn Camp to School Hut Camp
You'll trek to School Hut Camp as the landscape shifts to rocky semi-desert terrain. The trekking itself isn't very difficult, but maintaining an appropriate pace helps conserve your energy for what's ahead. Rest well at camp, avoid strenuous activity, and drink plenty of water since you're heading to the summit tonight.

School Hut Camp to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Camp
A night departure from School Hut Camp begins the final push to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, Kilimanjaro's summit. While the trek itself is physically moderate, the altitude presents the real challenge. Your guide watches your stamina and mental state throughout. After reaching the summit and potentially visiting the glacier, you'll descend to Kibo Camp to rest, then continue down to Horombo Camp.

Horombo Camp to Marangu Gate
Starting with a warm breakfast, you'll descend to Marangu Gate and exit Kilimanjaro National Park. Your group gathers to celebrate the achievement, you'll write in the guestbook, receive your commemorative summit certificate, and then head back to your hotel.
