Itinerary
- Day 1
Arusha to Miriakamba Huts
You'll start with a transfer to Arusha National Park, which takes roughly 2.5 to 3 hours from your starting point. During the drive, keep an eye out for giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and various other wildlife roaming the area. Once you reach Momella Gate, your guides will take care of all the permit paperwork and formalities. From there, the trek to Miriakamba Huts begins, and along the trail you might spot warthogs, zebras, monkeys and if you're fortunate, elephants. You'll break for lunch somewhere along the way, then continue on to the huts where you can settle in and rest or take some time to look around the immediate area.

- Day 2
Miriakamba Huts to Saddle Hut Camp
After breakfast, you'll trek toward Saddle Hut Camp as the landscape gradually shifts from rainforest into heath and moorland terrain, giving you some really nice panoramic views along the way. There's an optional chance to hike up to Little Meru Peak if you want to help with acclimatization. Hot lunch is served partway through, and then you'll continue to camp where a hot dinner waits for you by evening.

- Day 3
Saddle Hut Camp to Socialist Peak to Arusha
You'll head out at midnight for the trek to Socialist Peak, which sits at 4,565m. This section of the climb includes some tough parts at Rhino Point and Cobra Point where the terrain gets steep and demanding. By sunrise, you should reach the summit and get those panoramic views from the top. After that, you'll descend back down to Miriakamba Hut for a hot lunch, then make your way back to Momella Gate for your transfer either to Arusha or directly to the airport.
