  Best of Uluru & Kings Canyon was a nice visit to both locations. The day tour of Uluru with two local guides was excellent. The sunset at Uluru was a fight with over 20 large tour busses to maintain our spot on the fence to watch the sunset. People were pushing into the area we already were and were rude when we asked them to give us the space we were standing at. Sunrise at Uluru was a much nicer experience. The hike of Kings Canyon was beautiful but definitely for those that are in good shape to hike both up and down a steep incline. The fact that there are five AEDs and Emergency Contact towers throughout the hike should tell people that if they are not in very good shape they should NOT attempt to hike the canyon rim. A minimum of three liters a person should be a requirement, not a recommendation. I carried five and a half liters, had to share over a liter to prevent heat exhaustion with a fellow hiker and still ended the hike with no water. The Light Towers "an immersive visual and aural display" I felt was a waste of time and after a long day with an early start the next day, an unnecessary added event. The van was too small for the group, the air conditioner was poor for the conditions we were in and the sound system the guide tried to use did not work.Show more

While we do aim to prepare travellers by outlining in the trip information that this walk is graded and requires a good level of fitness, your comments around preparation and hydration are a timely reminder of just how essential this is. A sunset at Uluru is meant to be a truly special experience, and we’re sorry to hear that the level of crowding took away from that moment for you. Sunrise can often be quieter and more relaxed, so we’re pleased to hear this provided a more positive and peaceful experience. We also understand that the Light Towers experience did not resonate with you and felt unnecessary within the itinerary, particularly following a long day. While it is intended to be an immersive visual and aural experience, this feedback will be shared with the relevant teams as they continue reviewing the flow and inclusions of the trip.   The visit of Uluru and Kings Canyon were very high on my list of places to visit in Australia. Unfortunately, the qualifications of Ronaldo, our tour guide, did not meet my expectations. I understand this tour is on a very tight schedule. A skillful tour guide is capable to get everyone to keep up the pace without feeling the constant pressure. It was stressful the way the directives were communicated. The directives were also unclear. Also, the information he shared about the history was not interesting to listen to as he was constantly repeating himself. These comments were acknowledged by other fellow travellers.Show more
