  How does one get to the embarkation point? How far from a major airport? At the end of the cruise, how does one get to the starting city?

    For this specific cruise, the operator is offering a transfer from Passau train station to the ship on the first day of embarkation, and from the ship to Passau train station on the last day of the cruise. If you are arriving to the airport, unfortunately, the transfer will not be included and you will have to make your way to the ship via a local cab on the embarkation and disembarkation day. The operator will send the confirmed embarkation address in the final documents that you would receive within 30 days prior to departure once you have a booking so you will be able to know how long it will take via a cab to the docking address.

    I am very interested in the premium Danube package for 6 nights and the Krakow 4 night with Auchwitz, enamel Factory and the Salt Mine. I will have 25 – 30 passengers. I need price for ground transportation from airport to hotel in Krakow and ship to airport in Linz.

    We do not offer flight arrangements as requested. Engelhartszell is a very small town on the Danube River, near the German/Austrian border. Guests usually arrive by plane via Munich Airport. We can offer to book a bus transfer for your group from/to Munich Airport to Engelhartszell. The transfer takes about 2 – 2,5 hours one way.

    Please let me explain the dream I have for this trip. I will make the air arrangements. I first want the 4 day Krakow tour with Auchwitz, the Salt Mine and the Enamel Factory. We will need transportation from Krakow airport to the hotel. Then bus to the ship for the cruise. Then bus to the airport. This package will be for 25-30 guests. Is this the correct cruise? How does Arosa compare to other river cruise lines. Should I look for a cruise that includes Budapest?

    We definitely can arrange the cruise and trip to Krakow. The 6 day Danube Discovery is a great cruise and it is very affordable. You can of course look at a cruise that includes Budapest, however, it would be a longer and more higher priced cruise.

    The last part of the puzzle will be the ground transportation. You had said the Krakow tour will pick us up at the airport in Krakow so that is covered. How do we make arrangements to get from Krakow to the ship and from the ship to the airport? This process will take about 3 weeks. Will there be any problem with this procedure?

    3 weeks should be fine! You are doing the Krakow tour first correct? You will be taken care of when arriving in Krakow Airport and departing from Krakow Airport. From Krakow, I would suggest flying to Munich to join the cruise. The cruise begins in Engelhartszell. This is a very small town on river Danube, near to the German/Austrian border. Guests to arrive by plane usually use Munich Airport. We can offer and book a bus transfer for your group from/to Munich Airport to Engelhartszell. The transfer takes about 2 – 2,5 hours one way. The same thing can be done after the cruise.

    Would it be better to charter a bus from Krakow to the ship? This makes more sense than busing to airport, flying to Munich then busing again. Is there service from the ship to the airport at the end of the cruise?

    Unfortunately, a bus from Krakow to Engelhartszell would be over an 8 hour bus ride. The best would be to get to Munich from Krakow. We can pick you up and drop you back off to Munich.

    Do you offer the same itinerary from Budapest? If we go to Krakow for 4 days first it would be easier to get from Krakow to Budapest then to Passau. I think they offer one around April 4 or 5.

    Which cruise were you referring to? There are a few cruises from Budapest, however, they will be much more expensive.

    Although we have heard from other tour operators that some cruises have been cancelled due to low water levels, we haven't heard anything from A-ROSA or this cruise in particular, so this departure date is still happening. Usually, a cruise is cancelled depending on the size of the ship and its ability to navigate.
