  I would realistically give the tour 3.5 out of 5. It is not a “tour” as such, just a series of bookings made by the tour company - hotels, trains and activities. We had to be very alert and in control of timings but everything went smoothly. Regarding the hotels: the Osaka hotel (Toyoko Inn Kyobashi Sakuranomiya) was serviceable but pretty basic, the bed was the hardest I’ve ever slept on and breakfast was not good. The hotels in Kyoto (OMO3) and Hiroshima (Daiwa Roynet) were better, particularly the OMO3. In Hiroshima we had a non-smoking room but it had clearly been smoked in before. We enjoyed our walking tour of Osaka and the Hiroshima e-bike tour was probably the highlight. However, the Kyoto bus tour was very disappointing - unfortunately our guide spoke zero English (we had an English audio guide on the bus but once off the bus, it was self guided) - perhaps a different company would be an improvement for foreign visitors. All the bullet train bookings went smoothly. I booked the tour for myself and my family as a framework for our trip to Japan, however going forward I would now have the confidence to organise the same thing myself with the ability to evaluate the accommodation and activities better, not to mention get everything for a lower cost. However, the team from VIO travel were very helpful and available with information and also put us in direct contact with some of the local activity operators.Show more

  Tour Radar did an excellent job organizing and communicating my hotels, train tickets, and tours. In Osaka, the hotel was excellent. I loved the grocery store next door for simple meals (and there are many great restaurants nearby, including a fabulous Middle Eastern place). The walking tour with Tacko (I hope I am spelling his name correctly) was a memorable day. He was very fluent in English and full of history and excitement to share the highlights of the beautiful city.Show more

  The TourRadar tour was excellent. No mishaps and everything worked perfectly. All the hotel vouchers, train tickets and walking, coach and cycle tours were great. JAY was our personal guide in Osaka. He was knowledgeable, interesting and engaging. PANDA our bus tour guide in Kyoto was very thorough but would do better to have a flag as being short was easy to lose. Kana in Hiroshima was first rate and provided new electric cycles. Her tour was extensive and we learned much about the disastrous effects of atomic destruction. All paperwork (via email) was efficient and correct. Only one suggestion, full paperwork only arrived on-line six days in advance of the tour. Earlier receipt would have led to less last minute panic and uncertainty. The final open Shinkansen tickets you gave for return to Osaka were perfect and enabled us to extend our journey to Nagoya at an earlier time. Efficient service all round.Show more
