Asked on December 16th, 2025How are the accomodations, are the Hotels in the city or outside of the cities? Are we moving in charters bus or trains? I have read reviews that it is busses and not trains which means there is a lot of wasted time. So please clarify. Kindly.
ContikiOperator•Written December 2025Typically, the accommodation uses on this tour is 2.5-3.5 start hotels. Many hotels sit just outside city centers; quite a few are close to public transport. Mostly, this tour will travel via motorcoach bus and a return ferry to London on the last day. No train, however, there's no wasted time—our itinerary is designed so that the journey itself becomes part of the experience. Along the way, we make scenic stops and include sightseeing or activities, so you'll get to explore and enjoy different highlights during the travel segments.

We are initially interested in the Lake Como area, including, if possible, a one-way trip on the Bernina Express. We have a credit of 800 euros and our total budget would be around 1,000 €. We are open to other European destinations, preferably close to Spain, with the trip ideally taking place at the end of October or the beginning of November.
