Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
Your travel representative will meet you at Cairo airport when you arrive. From there, you'll head to your hotel to settle in and get comfortable. Spend the rest of the day wandering around the city at your own pace, getting a feel for the streets and neighborhoods.

- Day 2
Cairo
This morning you'll head out to the Giza necropolis to see the pyramids of Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure up close, along with the Sphinx. After spending time there, you'll travel to Saqqara where you can walk through the step pyramid of Djoser and the nearby mastaba tombs and pyramid of Teti.

- Day 3
Cairo to Luxor
You'll transfer to Cairo Airport for a domestic flight to Luxor (about 1 hour). Once there, your guide will meet you to visit the Temple of Luxor on the eastern bank, which is dedicated to the god Amun. After that, you'll check out the Karnak temples before boarding your cruise boat, which becomes your home for the next several nights.

- Day 4
Luxor to Edfu
After breakfast on the boat, you'll transfer overland to see the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Memnon statues. Back on the boat, you'll head toward Edfu while having lunch and afternoon tea on the sundeck and passing through the Esna Lock. Dinner's onboard that evening, and there's an optional chance to try traditional Egyptian clothing if you're interested.

- Day 5
Edfu to Aswan
Following breakfast, you'll get off the boat to visit the Temple of Horus, a well-preserved Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the falcon god. Then you'll sail to Kom Ombo and explore the double temples of Sobek and Haroeris. Back onboard, the boat continues to Aswan, where you'll stay anchored for the night.

Aswan to Abu Simbel
An early transfer takes you to Abu Simbel, about 3 hours each way by road. There you'll see the temples of Ramses II and Nefertari, with the Ramses II temple featuring four colossal statues that get lit by sunlight twice yearly during the ruler's birth and appointment days. After exploring, you'll return to Aswan for the night.

- Day 7
Aswan
You'll visit the Aswan High Dam, one of the world's largest, then head to the Temple of Philae, which is dedicated to the goddess Isis. Back on your boat in the afternoon, you'll take a scenic felucca sailboat ride down the Nile past Elephantine Island and the Agha Khan mausoleum before returning. Later, you'll transfer to Cairo airport to meet your travel representative.

Cairo
A guided tour takes you through Old Cairo starting at the Egyptian Museum, which holds one of the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities, including 5,000-year-old pharaonic treasures, statues of Ramses II, and items from Tutankhamun's tomb like gold and alabaster pieces and rare jewelry. Then you'll visit the churches of Old Cairo and browse Khan El Khalili, the old market, before returning for the night.

Depart Cairo
